A Humble Bundle can contain multiple games, and each title has its own rating. This check applies when the particular game is available to add to your Steam library; it does not establish how a specific bundle item is redeemed or what kind of key it includes.

Check the rating for each game, not for the bundle
Steam Deck compatibility is assessed for individual games, not for a Humble Bundle as a package. Write down the exact title of each game you want to play and check each one separately. A rating for one title says nothing about the other games in the same bundle. Even if the games are sold together, Valve’s Deck rating describes the individual game, not the bundle’s contents as a whole.
The workflow below assumes the game can be added to your Steam library. Humble Bundle items may have different redemption arrangements, and the information available here does not establish the key type or redemption steps for any particular bundle item. First confirm how your specific item is provided; do not assume that every Humble game is a Steam key. Once you know which game you are checking and can identify its Steam listing or library entry, use the steps below.

Where to find the Steam Deck compatibility rating
In the Steam library on your Deck
- Open your Steam library on the Deck and select the exact game you want to check.
- Open the game’s Steam Deck compatibility information from its library entry.
- Read the rating and open the detailed breakdown, especially if the game is marked Playable or Unknown.
Valve says you can filter the Deck library by compatibility rating. Filtering can help you review titles already in your library, but it does not replace checking each game’s detailed rating when you need to know what setup or limitations to expect. The filter is a way to organize or narrow a library view; the individual game’s rating and detail panel are where you learn what Valve has assessed for that title.
This route is practical when the game is already in your Steam library and you want to assess it on the device where you plan to play. Make sure the library entry is the game you mean, especially when you are comparing several bundle titles. The rating is title-specific, so opening one game’s details does not provide a rating for its sequel, another edition, or the other items in the bundle.
On the Steam store page
- Search the Steam store for the exact game title.
- Open that game’s details page, taking care to distinguish similarly named titles or editions.
- Find the Steam Deck compatibility section and read its rating.
- Open the detailed rating information to see any listed requirements or qualifications.
Valve makes compatibility ratings and a more detailed expected-experience breakdown available in both the Steam store and library. A store rating is useful even before you add a game to your library, provided you have found the right title or edition. Search results alone are not enough if several entries have similar names: verify the details page before relying on the badge.
If you are checking a bundle before deciding which games matter most to you, the store route lets you look up each exact title and compare its published rating. If a game is already in your library, the library route keeps the check attached to that entry. Both routes point to the same kind of title-specific compatibility information; neither turns the result into a guarantee about all games in the bundle.
What each Steam Deck rating means
| Rating | What it tells you | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Valve says the game passes all compatibility checks without configuration work for users to access all game functionality. | A strong indication that the reviewed experience meets Valve’s Deck criteria without extra setup. It is not a promise that every game setting, future update, or play session will perform identically. |
| Playable | The game functions, but may require user action or configuration. | Read the detailed rating. It may describe steps such as choosing a community controller configuration, opening the on-screen keyboard, or using the touchscreen to navigate a launcher. |
| Unsupported | Valve identifies the game as not functioning on the device because of Proton or specific hardware incompatibility. | Do not treat this as a positive compatibility result. The rating concerns functioning on the Deck; it does not mean the rating itself removes a Steam game from your library or the Deck store. |
| Unknown | Valve says the game has not completed compatibility review, so information about how it will play on the device is unavailable. | Treat this as inconclusive—not as a pass and not as a finding that the game cannot work. Look for a later rating update or use the rating details if available. |
Verified and Playable are not interchangeable. Playable means the game functions with possible user intervention; Verified is the stronger result that all checks passed without configuration work to access all functionality. In practical terms, Verified answers that the game met Valve’s full set of checks without setup work, while Playable warns that you may need to make an adjustment or use a Deck feature in a particular way.
Unsupported and Unknown also describe different situations. Unsupported is a negative compatibility finding: Valve identifies a reason the title does not function on the device. Unknown is not a finding about successful or unsuccessful play; it means the compatibility review has not been completed and Valve has not published an expected-experience assessment. If you need an answer before installing or choosing a game, do not convert Unknown into either a pass or a failure.
A rating changes how a Steam game is presented, but Valve says it does not by itself remove a title from the Deck store or library. In other words, the compatibility badge is information for your decision, not a statement that a game has disappeared from your account or cannot be listed there. Keep availability and compatibility separate when interpreting the result.

What to inspect in a Playable rating
The rating details matter because “Playable” can describe different kinds of friction. Check whether the game expects you to do any of the following:
- Adjust controls: The default controller setup may not provide the expected experience, and a community controller configuration may be suggested.
- Enter text: You may need to bring up the on-screen keyboard for a name, password, or other text field.
- Use a touchscreen: A launcher or menu may require touch navigation rather than working fully with the default controls.
- Work through a launcher: Determine whether you can reach the game and its menus using the Deck’s controls or touchscreen.
These examples are possible manual steps, not a checklist that applies to every Playable game. Use the game’s own detail panel to identify the actual requirements Valve lists for that title. A Playable rating does not tell you, by itself, which of these situations applies. That is why reading the detail panel is more useful than stopping at the label.
Think about the difference between “the game functions” and “the game needs no special action.” A controller configuration suggestion affects how you interact with the game; an on-screen keyboard requirement matters when the game asks for text; and touchscreen navigation matters if a launcher or menu does not work as expected with the default controller setup. The significance depends on what you are comfortable doing and how you plan to play. The panel’s specific notes, rather than the word Playable alone, are the useful comparison.
When you compare two Playable games, do not assume that their setup burden is identical. One may involve choosing a community control layout, while another may require touch or keyboard input at a certain point. Record the stated step for each title and use that information to decide which is a better fit for your intended use. Do not treat every listed example as a requirement for every Playable game.

Valve’s compatibility review covers more than whether a game launches. Its checks include physical controller support; access to all content with the default controller configuration; appropriate controller glyphs; usable text entry; playable default performance; launcher navigation; resolution support; and readable interface text. A title can therefore fall short of Verified for reasons involving how it is controlled, how its interface behaves, or how it performs by default, not only because it fails to start.
For Verified certification, Valve’s checklist specifies a performance criterion of 30 frames per second at 800p on Steam Deck. It also specifies a minimum interface font height of 9 pixels at 1280×800. These are certification criteria, not a general guarantee that every game will run at 30 fps at every setting, or that every interface will look the same in all circumstances. A game that misses some Verified criteria may still be rated Playable.
Read those figures as part of Valve’s certification standard. The 30 fps at 800p criterion is not a promise about every graphics setting or every moment of play, and the 9-pixel font requirement is a check on interface readability at the specified resolution. Neither number is a market statistic or a rating that you can apply independently to a game based only on its store description. The rating and its details remain the practical way to see Valve’s published assessment.

Because the checks cover several aspects of use, a game that launches successfully may still have a compatibility concern involving text entry, default controls, a launcher, resolution, or other criteria. Conversely, a Playable result is not the same as saying that a title never functions. The labels summarize Valve’s assessment against its criteria, so use the rating definitions rather than treating “launches” as the only test that matters.

How Proton affects the result
Steam Deck runs a Linux-based system, and Windows games without native Linux builds can run through Proton, Valve’s Windows compatibility layer. A Windows-only label therefore does not, by itself, answer whether a game works on Deck. The useful next step is still to look up the exact Steam title and read its Deck rating.
Proton support continues to evolve. Valve’s documentation notes that compatibility issues can arise from unsupported middleware or Windows functionality that Proton does not fully implement. Some anti-cheat middleware also requires configuration by the game developer. The current Deck rating is Valve’s review result for the title, not a permanent guarantee that software changes will never affect compatibility.
This is one reason not to decide from an operating-system label alone. Knowing that a game has a Windows build does not establish that it will work well through Proton, and knowing that it lacks a native Linux build does not establish that it will fail. Valve’s compatibility assessment is the more direct source for the Deck experience, while the details tell you what limitations or manual actions Valve has identified.
Compatibility can also be time-sensitive. Games can change, Proton can change, and Valve’s review information can change. A badge is best understood as the current published assessment rather than an unchanging promise about every future version or configuration. If a title’s rating matters to a decision you are making, check it again at that time rather than assuming a previously seen result will remain fixed.

If you are deciding which games in a bundle to install or play first, compare their individual ratings and the actual manual steps listed in the detail panels. Use the same questions for every title:
- What is the current Deck rating for this exact game?
- Does the detail panel list any manual setup, such as a controller change, text entry, touchscreen use, or launcher navigation?
- Is the result Unknown, meaning there is no completed compatibility review to guide your decision?
- Does the rating identify an issue that matters to how you plan to play?
Do not infer the answer from whether a game has a Windows or Linux build alone. The rating details provide a more useful account of the expected Deck experience than the operating-system label by itself.

A simple comparison list can keep bundle decisions clear: write down the exact game title, the current badge, and any manual action specified in the detail view. If the badge is Unknown, mark it as unreviewed rather than grouping it with Verified or Unsupported. If it is Playable, note the particular step instead of recording only the broad category. This lets you compare what is actually known for each game without implying that the bundle has one shared compatibility status.
For example, if one title is Verified and another is Playable with a note about touchscreen launcher navigation, the first has passed Valve’s full compatibility checks without configuration work, while the second may function but involves the specified step. If a third is Unknown, you have no completed Valve review to compare against either result. These distinctions are more helpful than ranking titles by badge alone or assuming all games packaged together share the same experience.
How to interpret an uncertain or changing result
Unknown is a statement about the review status, not a verdict that the game works or fails. Valve’s definition says information about how the game will play on the device is unavailable when review is incomplete. If a rating is important to your decision, check the title again later for an updated result.
Compatibility information can change as games, Proton, and Valve’s review data change. Treat the badge as the current published assessment rather than a timeless guarantee. Valve’s Steamworks compatibility and Proton documentation was accessed on October 9, 2026; the pages did not show a publication date.
If you see Unknown, the practical answer to “Does this Humble Bundle game work on Steam Deck?” is that Valve has not published a completed compatibility assessment for that exact game. The badge cannot tell you that the title will work, but it also does not say that the title is Unsupported. If you see Playable, your next question is not simply whether it works; it is what the listed user action involves. If you see Unsupported, Valve’s current assessment identifies a functionality problem on the Deck. If you see Verified, the game passed the checks without configuration work for access to all functionality, subject to the caveat that compatibility information and software can change.
Quick checklist before you decide
- Confirm the exact game. Check each title separately, not the bundle name. Take care with similar titles or editions on Steam.
- Open its Steam page or library entry. Valve makes Deck ratings available in both places; the library can also be filtered by compatibility rating.
- Read the badge, then the details. The detailed panel is especially important for Playable and useful context when the status is Unknown.
- Separate a rating from availability. A compatibility label does not itself remove the game from the Steam store or your library.
- Use the result as a current assessment. Proton, games, and Valve’s review data can change, so a rating is not a permanent guarantee.
With those steps, you can check what Valve currently says about each Steam game in a Humble Bundle without mistaking an unreviewed title for a pass, treating Playable as Verified, or assuming a bundle-wide rating exists.

How do I check whether a Humble Bundle game works on Steam Deck?
Find the exact game in your Steam library on Deck or on its Steam store page, then read the Steam Deck compatibility rating. Open the detailed rating information for a Playable or Unknown result. Check each bundle game separately.
Best Value
Does Unknown mean a game is Unsupported?
No. Unknown means Valve has not completed the compatibility review and has not published information about how the game will play on the device. It is inconclusive, not a pass or a failure.
Is Playable the same as Verified?
No. Verified means the game passes Valve’s compatibility checks without configuration work to access all game functionality. Playable means it functions but may require user action, such as a controller setup change, on-screen keyboard, or touchscreen navigation.
Can a Windows-only game work on Steam Deck?
A Windows-only label alone does not answer the question. Windows games without native Linux builds can run through Proton, but compatibility can depend on middleware or Windows functionality. Check the game’s current Deck rating and details.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Does an Unsupported rating remove a game from my Steam library?
No. Valve says a compatibility rating affects how a game is presented; it does not by itself remove a Steam game from the Deck store or library.
Does Verified guarantee 30 fps in every game setting?
No. Valve’s Verified checklist includes a criterion of 30 fps at 800p on Steam Deck, but that certification criterion is not a general guarantee for every game, setting, or play session.
Does a Humble Bundle have one Steam Deck rating?
No. The rating applies to an individual game, so check each title in the bundle separately. Also confirm how the particular Humble item is provided; not every bundle item should be assumed to be a Steam key.
The Bottom Line
Check the exact game’s Steam Deck rating in its Steam store page or library entry, then read the details. Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and Unknown mean different things, and no bundle-wide rating substitutes for checking each title. Treat Unknown as inconclusive and remember that compatibility information can change.
