To find out whether Nintendo eShop is down or under maintenance, check Nintendo’s official network status page for your region. It separates current outages, ongoing maintenance, and planned maintenance, so match the notice to the eShop activity you’re trying to use before concluding that a Nintendo service is unavailable.
Check Nintendo’s official network status page

Open Nintendo Support for your region and select Network status, or go directly to the official regional network maintenance and status page. Nintendo’s U.S. support pages link to the network status page, and Nintendo Japan directs Switch 2 and Switch users to its official network-status resource.

Look under current outages, then current maintenance. If you are planning a purchase, download, or code redemption, also check future maintenance schedule. Nintendo lists these separately, so a planned window is not the same as a current interruption.

Match the notice to the service and activity you need. Nintendo may list separate notices for the same service when the affected area differs. A notice about another Nintendo service does not by itself mean eShop purchases or downloads are affected.

Read the listed date, approximate start and end times, affected service, and any ongoing status. Use the time and date shown on the regional page that applies to your account and console; the sources do not establish one timezone convention for every region.
Nintendo’s Network Maintenance Information / Operational Status page provides separate status categories and explains its posting caveats. Nintendo’s Japan support FAQ for Switch 2 and Switch points users to the official status resource.

Understand what the status page is telling you
Current outage
A current outage indicates a service problem rather than a planned maintenance window. Check that the notice names Nintendo eShop or the network service involved in your task.

When maintenance is underway, wait for it to end before retrying. For error code 2813-9200, Nintendo says eShop server maintenance is ongoing and advises redeeming a download code after maintenance has ended. See Nintendo’s Error Code: 2813-9200 guidance.

Future maintenance schedule
A scheduled window is useful for planning, but it is not evidence that eShop is currently unavailable. Check the page again when the window begins, since schedules and operational status can change.

An empty status page does not rule out a brief problem: Nintendo warns that updates may be delayed and that maintenance lasting under five minutes may not be posted. Recheck the live page before deciding the fault is local.

If there is no relevant notice, or the problem continues after a maintenance window, troubleshoot the connection rather than assuming Nintendo’s servers are still down. Nintendo’s Unable to Load Nintendo Switch eShop (White Screen) article recommends these checks as applicable:

- Reset the console cache.
- If you use manual DNS and it does not help, restore DNS to Automatic.
- Toggle airplane mode, then restart the console.
- Try a different wireless network.
- Install the latest system update.
- Check whether other devices can use the same internet connection. If they also have unstable or unavailable internet, Nintendo advises contacting your internet service provider.
For error code 2137-7504, Nintendo’s support guidance also says to check network status; if the error persists and no maintenance is posted, try again later.
