How do I check app usage on my Samsung phone?

Open Settings and tap Digital Wellbeing. On some devices, the menu is called Digital Wellbeing and parental controls. If you do not see it, search for “Digital Wellbeing” in Settings.

Check the screen-time tracker for the current day. Samsung says it displays the hours and minutes you have used the device that day.

For a broader view, tap Weekly report. Samsung describes its icon as four vertical lines near the upper-right corner of the Digital Wellbeing screen. The report shows your daily average screen time and the apps you used most frequently during the week.

To set limits for particular apps, open App timers and choose an app. The controls available can differ by device and software version.
Samsung says you can view the weekly screen-time report without setting a goal. Its described Digital Wellbeing features require Android 10 or later. Menu names and screens may vary by Galaxy model, carrier, and software version. See Samsung’s Digital Wellbeing instructions for the documented route.

How can I see which apps use the most battery?
If you are investigating battery drain rather than time spent in apps, go to Settings > Battery > View details. Samsung’s battery view includes app usage as well as screen-on and screen-off time. It is a battery-usage view, not the weekly screen-time report. See Samsung’s battery guidance for this route.

Search Settings for “Digital Wellbeing” if the menu is not where you expect; Samsung notes that labels and screens can vary across devices and software.

Check your Android version if Digital Wellbeing features are unavailable: Samsung specifies Android 10 or later for the features described in its support instructions.

Use the battery details screen only when you need battery-consumption information. For daily and weekly screen-time patterns, return to Digital Wellbeing.
