To change your Hulu location for Hulu + Live TV, connect to the residential internet connection you want Hulu to recognize, then select Set or Change Home under Privacy and Settings on a supported living-room device or Hulu’s online Account page. Hulu allows up to four Home network changes in a 12-month period. For a temporary trip, leave the Home network alone: use a mobile device and check in at Home at least once every 30 days instead.
“Location” here means Hulu + Live TV’s Home network, which Hulu uses for local-channel and regional sports network access. On-demand Hulu subscribers generally do not need to set one. See Hulu’s Home network instructions.

Change your Hulu + Live TV Home network
- Connect to the intended Home internet connection. Use the residential network you want Hulu to recognize. Hulu says you cannot set Home while connected to mobile wireless, a mobile hotspot, or shared Wi-Fi.
- Open the Home network setting. On a supported living-room device or in a computer or mobile browser, go to Privacy and Settings and choose Set or Change Home on Hulu’s Account page.
- Make the change only for a genuine network change. Use this process when moving or changing internet service providers, for example, and do it while connected to the new intended Home connection. Hulu’s instructions limit changes to four during a 12-month period.
Traveling? Keep your Home network as it is
A trip is not a reason to change your Home network. Hulu’s documented way to keep using Live TV on a mobile device away from Home is to open Hulu at Home at least once every 30 days to check in. If you miss a check-in, the on-demand streaming library remains available on mobile, but Live TV mobile use may be interrupted until you check in at Home. Hulu does not describe changing Home as a travel workaround.

Fix “Not at home,” wrong local channels, or a failed Home change
Living-room device says “Not at home”
First check whether the device is connected to the designated Home network. Hulu also lists an ISP switch, an IP-address change, mobile or shared Wi-Fi, and a network it detects as mobile as possible causes. If you really have a new home connection, set Home while connected to that network. Otherwise, try the on-demand library, use a mobile device where applicable, or contact Hulu.
Hulu shows the wrong local channels
Home network settings affect local affiliates and regional sports networks. Check the channels Hulu lists for your current ZIP code. Hulu suggests a quick power cycle to refresh the connection; if the channels are still wrong, contact Hulu support. Local channel availability can change; see Hulu’s Hulu + Live TV service page.

You cannot set Home or have used all four changes
Hulu lists mobile networks, commercial or shared Wi-Fi, VPNs or anonymous proxies, and being outside the United States as possible obstacles to setting Home. Hulu says anonymizers and proxy services do not work with its service, so a VPN is not a solution for changing Hulu location.

What Hulu location settings can—and cannot—change
Changing the Home network identifies the residential connection for Hulu + Live TV; it does not override Hulu’s geographic availability rules. Hulu’s international availability guidance says Hulu and Hulu Premium subscribers can stream in the United States, including Puerto Rico and U.S. military bases. Hulu + Live TV is not available in U.S. territories, on U.S. military bases, or internationally, with a stated exception for military users whose internet service is received directly from the base. A Home network change cannot bypass those restrictions.
