There you can add supported widgets, remove or reorder them, or turn the lock-screen widgets off. The Weather and more experience has a separate limitation: Microsoft says its internal cards cannot currently be selected or arranged individually.
Change, add, remove, or reorder lock-screen widgets
- Open Start > Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
- Under Widgets, review the widgets listed. Their order in Settings matches their reading order on the lock screen. Drag a widget higher in the list to make it appear earlier.
- To remove a widget, open its More options menu and choose the removal action. The menu may also offer customization if that widget’s provider supports it.
- To add a widget, select Add widget below the list and choose one from the catalog. Microsoft says only widgets that support a small size can currently be added to the lock screen.
For the available controls and current limits, see Microsoft’s Windows lock-screen instructions.

Hide lock-screen widgets
To hide the lock-screen widgets as a group, go to Start > Settings > Personalization > Lock screen and toggle Widgets off. This hides the lock-screen widget experience rather than removing just one item from its list.

Can you change the Weather and more cards?
Microsoft calls the lock-screen feed Weather and more. It can show current weather as well as other content, including finance, sports, and traffic. However, Microsoft states: “Currently, you can’t customize the widgets list in the Weather and more app.” Its support instructions do not provide a way to select or arrange those internal cards individually.

This is distinct from managing the widgets listed under the lock-screen Widgets setting. Changing that list does not let you choose the individual cards inside Weather and more. Microsoft’s instructions say the experience uses the Widgets app for configuration; related settings include location, language, region, and temperature units. Weather and more may tailor content using an estimated location from Windows Location service when enabled, or otherwise from the internet connection’s IP address. Microsoft’s lock-screen support page describes these options and limits.

The Widgets board is a separate Windows surface. Open it from the Widgets taskbar area or press Windows key + W. Board widgets have their own controls for adding, removing, moving, resizing, and customization; for example, a weather widget’s city can be changed through its customization controls. Those board controls do not select or rearrange the internal Weather and more cards on the lock screen. See Microsoft’s guide to Widgets in Windows.
