On devices without those Windows controls, enhanced features may instead be managed by software from the computer manufacturer, so the available interface can differ. Microsoft’s touch-gesture guide describes the Windows settings route and supported gestures.
Change three- and four-finger gestures
On the Touchpad page, expand Three-finger gestures or Four-finger gestures. Use the menus shown in each section to choose among the actions available on your device. If a section or action is missing, it may not be supported by the touchpad or its driver.

Other common touchpad gestures include scrolling with two fingers and pinching to zoom. A two-finger tap or pressing the lower-right area of the touchpad can perform a secondary click. Availability can vary by device. Microsoft lists these gestures and their requirements.
What touchpad sensitivity changes
The sensitivity setting affects how much Windows suppresses touchpad pointer input after keyboard activity, helping reduce accidental cursor movement while typing. A more sensitive setting reduces the time Windows suppresses that input. It is not a setting for pointer speed or scrolling speed.

Microsoft’s Precision Touchpad tuning guidance says there is currently no way to change touchpad scrolling or zooming speed through the documented touchpad user settings. It also warns that incorrect registry changes can cause serious problems; registry tuning is not a routine fix for missing customization options. Read Microsoft’s Precision Touchpad tuning guidance.

Some gesture options are absent
First check whether the Touchpad page displays the Precision Touchpad message. If it does not, the enhanced controls may be handled by the manufacturer’s own software. Consult the computer maker’s instructions for model-specific or legacy touchpad settings rather than assuming every Windows 11 laptop has identical menus.
