To change a Path of Titans server’s map, stop the server, edit Saved/Config/Game.ini, set ServerMap inside [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession], save the file, and perform a full restart. The documented built-in values are Panjura, Island (the map displayed in-game as Gondwa), and Riparia. A modded map needs an additional enabled mod entry in GameUserSettings.ini and the map’s exact internal name in Game.ini.
What controls the map
Path of Titans reads the map choice from the ServerMap setting in Game.ini. The line belongs under the section header [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. The file is normally in the server’s Saved/Config directory, although a managed host may expose the same file through a configuration editor or file manager.

The value is an internal identifier, not necessarily the title players see in menus. This distinction matters for Gondwa: the documented identifier is Island, so entering Gondwa is not the value shown in the official server configuration table.

These identifiers come from the Alderon Games community-server Hosting Wiki. The setting is read when the server starts; changing a file while the process is running does not apply the new map to that running instance.

Change to a built-in map
Use this procedure for Panjura, Gondwa, or Riparia when you are not installing a map mod.
- Tell players about the restart. A map change interrupts the current session. If the server uses scheduled restarts or has active players, choose a maintenance window.
- Stop the server completely. Use the host’s Stop or Shut down control and wait until the process is no longer running. Do not edit a live configuration file.
- Open
Game.ini. In a self-managed installation, browse to the server’sSaved/Configdirectory. On a control-panel host, open its file manager or INI editor and select the server’sGame.ini. - Find or add the session section. Locate
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. If the section is absent, add it on its own line before adding the map setting. - Set one
ServerMapline. Replace an existing value rather than leaving multiple competing entries. For Gondwa, the required line isServerMap=Island. For the other documented built-in maps, useServerMap=PanjuraorServerMap=Riparia. - Save the file. Confirm that the editor saved the actual
Game.ini, not a downloaded copy or a file with an added.txtextension. - Start or restart the server. A full restart is required; simply returning to the control panel or reconnecting as an administrator is not enough.
- Verify the result. Join after startup and check the map name in the server browser or in-game. If the old map appears, stop the server again and follow the troubleshooting section below rather than repeatedly restarting with an unverified file.
Example configuration
A minimal section for Gondwa looks like this:

ServerMap=IslandKeep the section header’s brackets, slashes, periods, and capitalization intact. The map value should contain only the documented identifier; do not add quotation marks or the display label in parentheses.

Hosts present configuration differently, but the underlying setting does not change. Look for a menu labelled Configuration, Files, File Manager, INI editor, or Advanced settings. Open the server’s Game.ini, edit the IGameSession section, save, and use the panel’s full Stop and Start or Restart controls.

Some panels provide a dedicated “map” field instead of showing raw INI files. If that field writes to ServerMap, enter the same internal value used in Game.ini. A field labelled “Gondwa” may still need to produce Island in the underlying file. If the panel offers both a quick setting and a file editor, use one method consistently and check the resulting file to avoid one interface overwriting the other.
Do not assume that closing the editor applies changes. The documented sequence is stop, edit, save, and restart. If a panel queues changes, wait for the save operation to finish before starting the server.

Switch to a modded map
A modded map requires two separate configuration changes:
- An exact mod ID must be enabled in
GameUserSettings.iniunder[PathOfTitans.Mods]. - The map’s exact internal name must be assigned to
ServerMapinGame.iniunder[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession].
Entering only the map name does not install or enable the mod. Conversely, enabling the mod without changing ServerMap leaves the server on its previous map, commonly Panjura.
Step 1: obtain the mod’s exact identifiers
Use the mod listing or the mod author’s documentation to obtain two values: the mod’s exact EnabledMods ID and the map package’s internal map name. These values may differ from the title shown to players. The documentation specifically recommends asking the mod author when the internal name is unclear.

Step 2: stop the server and enable the mod
Stop the server before editing either file. Open GameUserSettings.ini in Saved/Config, locate or create [PathOfTitans.Mods], and add the mod’s exact ID to EnabledMods using the syntax already present in that file. Preserve existing compatible mod entries unless you intentionally want to remove them.
Step 3: point the session at the mod map
Open Game.ini, locate [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession], and set ServerMap to the internal map name exactly as supplied by the mod files. For example, if the package identifies its map as TheGrimExpanse, the line is:
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=TheGrimExpanseTheGrimExpanse is an example of an internal name; substitute the value for the map you installed. Spelling and capitalization are significant. Do not replace the internal name with a marketing title or a translated display name.
Step 4: save both files and restart
Save GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini, then perform a full restart. Large map mods can take additional time to load. Give the server time to finish starting before concluding that the configuration failed.
Only one map mod can run at a time
Map mods are not stackable: the documented limit is one active map mod. Other compatible categories of mods may be stackable, but adding a second map mod can create a conflict instead of combining maps. Remove or disable the previous map mod before testing a different one.

Why a modded server keeps loading Panjura
Panjura is the documented default, so it is the expected fallback when the server does not resolve the requested map. Check these causes in order:
- The mod ID is missing. Confirm that the exact ID appears in
GameUserSettings.iniunder[PathOfTitans.Mods]. A display title is not a substitute for the ID. - The internal map name is wrong. Compare the
ServerMapvalue character by character with the name in the mod files. Check capitalization as well as spelling. - The two files were edited in different server locations. Control panels can expose multiple instances or backup directories. Verify that both files belong to the same server instance.
- The edits were made while the server was running. Stop the process, save both files, and restart. A running process may continue using its previously loaded configuration.
- Another map mod is enabled. Disable the competing map mod so that only one map mod remains active.
- The mod is still loading. Wait longer when the package is large. Restarting repeatedly during a long load can make diagnosis harder.
Map fails to load or the server will not start
Check exact syntax first
Ensure the section header is exactly [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] and that the setting is written as ServerMap=Value with no extra punctuation. Remove accidental quotation marks, trailing comments, or duplicate ServerMap lines. Keep the mod’s internal name on one line.
Check spelling and capitalization
Built-in values use the documented forms Panjura, Island, and Riparia. Modded values must match the mod files exactly. “Gondwa” is a display name; it is not the documented built-in value for ServerMap.
Check mod conflicts
Temporarily remove the second map mod and test with only the intended map mod enabled. If the map then loads, reintroduce other non-map mods one at a time to identify a conflict. The map-mod limit remains one even when other mod categories can coexist.

Close and reopen each INI file while the server is stopped. Confirm that the new line is still present and that the editor did not save a second copy with a different extension. On a control panel, wait for the save confirmation before starting the server.
Allow for a longer startup
Modded maps can require extra loading time, especially when the package is large. Wait for the normal startup process to finish before deciding that the map value was rejected. If it never finishes, return to the exact-ID, capitalization, and conflict checks rather than changing several settings at once.
Built-in versus modded maps
The choice is primarily operational. A built-in map changes one setting; a modded map adds dependency management and another possible failure point.

A repeatable change-and-recovery checklist
- Record the current map value before changing it so you can restore the previous configuration.
- Stop the server and wait for it to shut down.
- Edit the correct server instance’s files in
Saved/Config. - Use one
ServerMapline under theIGameSessionsection. - For a modded map, verify both the
EnabledModsID and the internal map name. - Keep only one map mod enabled.
- Save every edited file and confirm the changes remain after reopening it.
- Perform a full restart and allow extra time for a large mod.
- Test the map before inviting players back.
If the change fails, restore the last known-good ServerMap value, remove the unneeded map-mod entry if applicable, save while the server is stopped, and restart. This returns the server to a documented built-in map or to the previous working mod configuration without mixing several unverified edits.
Key points to remember
The map setting is ServerMap in Game.ini under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. Gondwa uses Island. A modded map requires both an enabled mod ID and an exact internal map name, and only one map mod can be active.
