To change an alert animation in Streamlabs, open the Alert Box in the Streamlabs Dashboard. Use Global Editing to apply shared settings to alerts, or choose a platform and event to change just that alert. Save your settings, then preview or test the result before going live.
How do I change an alert animation in Streamlabs?
- Open the Streamlabs Dashboard and select Alert Box.
- Choose whether to edit alerts globally or edit one specific alert, as described below.
- Find the animation controls and select the behavior you want for the alert. Show controls its entrance; Hide controls how it leaves the screen. Some settings can also affect text motion.
- Save the settings before leaving the section.
- Preview the alert or use the Dashboard’s test menu. In Streamlabs Desktop, you can use Test Widgets. Streamlabs notes that an outro animation may not appear until Live Preview ends.
Streamlabs’ alert setup guide also documents configuring alerts in Streamlabs Desktop. Interface labels and layout may change, so the exact location of controls can vary.

How do I change all Streamlabs alert animations?
Open Global Editing in Alert Box to adjust settings shared across alerts. Streamlabs describes an Apply to All Alerts option for applying the shared configuration. Use this when you want a consistent entrance or exit style rather than changing each event separately.

In Alert Box, select the relevant platform and event—for example, a follow or subscription—and edit that event’s animation settings. This keeps the change limited to the selected alert instead of applying it across the whole alert box.

Animation setting or custom GIF: which should I change?
The animation setting controls how an alert appears and disappears. An image or video is the visual asset displayed as part of the alert; changing that file is not the same as changing the entrance or exit behavior.
To use your own visual, Streamlabs supports PNG, GIF, JPG/JPEG, WebP, WebM, and MP4 files in Alert Box, and its setup guide describes uploading media or choosing stock options. Check that you have permission to use any third-party image, GIF, or video. Streamlabs’ graphics and sound effects guide discusses finding or commissioning alert assets. Audio files are a separate setting; the guide lists MP3, OGG, and WAV support.

Why is my Streamlabs alert stuck on screen?
Check that both Show and Hide have an animation selected. Streamlabs’ alert troubleshooting guide identifies a missing selection for either as a possible cause of an alert that remains on screen. Review the settings in Streamlabs Desktop or on Streamlabs.com, save the correction, and test the alert again.
