For Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! on a phone or tablet, start with your device’s Settings: notification controls and app permissions are generally managed by iOS or Android. Nintendo’s available support pages do not document a specific in-app notification or privacy-settings path, so the controls you see on your device—not an assumed menu inside the app—are the reliable place to begin.
First, identify which Hello app and device you’re using
This guide covers Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi!, which Nintendo groups together for smart-device support. It does not cover Nintendo Today! or Nintendo Music, which Nintendo lists separately. The Nintendo support directory lists the Hello apps under mobile games.

Hello, Mario! is available on supported smartphones and tablets, as well as Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The controls differ by platform: phone and tablet alerts or permissions are managed through the mobile operating system, while a Switch does not use iOS or Android app settings. Nintendo’s device compatibility FAQ lists supported mobile requirements, but warns that meeting them does not guarantee an app will work on every device.

Open your device’s Settings and look for the notification controls for Hello, Mario! or Hello, Yoshi!. From there, use the options your operating system offers to change or disable notifications for that app. The exact labels and route vary by OS version and device maker; Nintendo’s support material does not provide a verified tap-by-tap path, so follow the labels shown on your own device rather than relying on a universal sequence.

If the app does not appear in the notification list, check that it is installed on this device and that you have selected the correct Hello app. Do not assume the app has an internal notification switch: Nintendo’s reviewed support pages do not document one.
Review privacy permissions at the operating-system level
In your phone or tablet’s Settings, open the app’s permissions or privacy controls and review the permissions actually listed for it. You can adjust available permissions there. The names and availability of controls depend on the operating system and version.

Nintendo’s support pages cited here do not publish an app-specific permission inventory or privacy disclosure. That means they do not establish which categories of personal data either Hello app collects, or which permissions a particular current version requests. Check the app’s current listing and the permission screen on your device; do not infer data practices from a permission name alone. For questions about Nintendo account or service data, consult the privacy notice applicable to your region.

Get help with an app-specific setting
Nintendo directs smart-device questions about Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi! to the Hello, Mario! support site. The UK support page advises checking the official FAQ first and using in-app support if that does not resolve the issue. If your question is about a feature inside the app rather than a device-level alert or permission, start there instead of assuming a control exists.

Nintendo posted an Android security notice after Unity Technologies announced a vulnerability affecting Android games and applications in October 2025. Nintendo released an updated version of Hello, Mario! in response and advised users of version 1.0.0 to update. Nintendo stated that the issue was fixed for Hello, Yoshi! as of version 1.0.0. These statements describe the versions and notice at that time; they do not establish the current status of an installation today. Check the installed version and your app store for any available update before troubleshooting an older Android copy. See Nintendo’s Android security notice.
