To keep your iPhone display from locking as quickly while Pandora is open, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock and choose a longer interval if one is available. This changes the screen’s automatic-lock timing; it is not a guaranteed fix for Pandora playback stopping or skipping.
Change the iPhone Auto-Lock setting
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Display & Brightness.
- Tap Auto-Lock.
- Choose a longer interval if you want the screen to stay available longer. The options shown can vary; Apple’s instructions say to choose a length of time and do not promise that every iPhone will offer Never. Apple’s guide to keeping the iPhone display on longer also warns that delaying or preventing Auto-Lock may increase power consumption.
If Pandora stops when the screen locks
Changing Auto-Lock may keep the display awake longer, but it does not establish why audio playback stopped. Pandora Community posts include reports of tracks skipping or changing when a phone is locked, along with user-suggested workarounds. Those reports are anecdotal, not proof that Auto-Lock causes the behavior or that changing it reliably fixes it. Read the Pandora Community discussion.

Check Pandora’s iOS requirement
If the issue may involve app compatibility, check your iOS version at Settings > General > About, then compare it with Pandora’s current requirements. Pandora’s support page, dated June 16, 2026, says the current iOS app requires iOS 18; requirements can change. Pandora’s iOS minimum specifications.

Use Siri for playback controls
Pandora documents Siri commands for accessing and controlling playback on iOS. Siri can offer a way to control playback by voice, but it does not change Auto-Lock or resolve the screen-lock setting itself. Pandora’s Siri instructions.
