Both routes offer No Blocking, Block Trackers, and Block Trackers and Ads.
Choose the right blocking level
Vivaldi describes its Tracker Blocker as using lists of known tracker URLs to stop matching requests before they are sent. The Ad Blocker is a separate layer that is intended to block ads not already blocked by tracker protection. These are descriptions of how Vivaldi’s features work, not a guarantee that every tracker or ad will be stopped. Vivaldi’s Android blocking guide explains the features.

- No Blocking: Turn off tracker and ad blocking for the selected scope.
- Block Trackers: Block known tracker requests without enabling the additional ad-blocking layer.
- Block Trackers and Ads: Enable both tracker and ad blocking.
Vivaldi recommends blocking trackers on all sites and enabling ad blocking only on sites where ads are intrusive or distracting. The company notes that advertising supports many websites; this is Vivaldi’s general guidance, not a claim about any particular publisher. Read Vivaldi’s explanation and recommendation.
Change the default for all websites
- Open the Vivaldi menu from the address bar and tap Settings. You can also open the Tab Switcher at the bottom right, then choose Settings.
- Tap Tracker and Ad Blocking.
- Tap Default Blocking Level and choose No Blocking, Block Trackers, or Block Trackers and Ads.
This setting is the default for sites without a separate per-site exception. If you cannot find the option, use the Settings search control to search for its name. Vivaldi documents these Android Settings routes in its Settings on Android guide.

Change blocking for one site
To leave the global default alone but change the current website, tap the shield-shaped Content Blocker control on the left side of the address bar. Select one of the three blocking levels. Vivaldi identifies this control as the way to change blocking for the current site in its Android interface guide.
Manage per-site exceptions
Use an exception when you want a site to keep a different level from the global default, including after navigating away and returning.

- Go to Menu > Settings > Tracker and Ad Blocking > Exceptions > Manage blocking level per site.
- Add the domain and select its blocking level, then tap Done.
- To change an existing exception, tap the listed site, choose a level, and tap Done. To remove it, select the site and tap Delete. Setting the site back to the global default also removes the need for a distinct blocking level.

Adjust blocking sources or hide cookie warnings
Blocking sources are the rule lists Vivaldi uses. To review them, open Settings > Tracker and Ad Blocking > Sources. Tick a listed source to enable it or untick it to stop using it. To add a list, choose Add New Source, enter the list’s URL, and tap Import.

Vivaldi’s Android help also describes an option to hide cookie warnings: enable Block Trackers and Ads, then go to Sources > Manage Ad Blocking Sources and enable Remove cookie warnings (Easylist Cookie List). If you want to hide warnings without blocking ads, Vivaldi says to disable the other blocking sources. Keep in mind that not all cookies are used for behavioral profiling; some are required for websites to work. See Vivaldi’s instructions for sources and cookie warnings.

If a page stops working or displays incorrectly, use its Content Blocker control to lower the level or select No Blocking for that site. If the page works afterward, a blocked element may have contributed to the problem; this test does not prove blocking was the cause. Vivaldi’s Android troubleshooting guide recommends disabling the tracker blocker and/or ad blocker through the address-bar control when blocked elements may affect site functionality.

These navigation labels are documented for Vivaldi on Android. If a label differs in your installed version, check the current Settings screen; the help instructions do not establish identical wording across every app version.
