To catch a Nekker in Monster Hunter: World, first unlock its capture bounty through the Witcher crossover assignment. Then search the Ancient Forest at night and watch Great Jagras after it feeds on an Aptonoth: Nekkers can approach the food Great Jagras regurgitates, but they leave soon after feeding.

During your second conversation with the Passionate Biologist, select “Is there anything else strange?” Game8 identifies this dialogue choice as necessary for the bounty to appear. Capcom confirms that the crossover includes a special bounty tied to Nekker-themed Palico gear, but the specific dialogue instructions come from Game8. After completing the assignment, speak with the Provisions Manager in Astera or Seliana and accept the capture bounty.

Find the Nekker in the Ancient Forest

Aim the Capture Net at the Nekker and fire promptly. The encounter guide says it leaves shortly after feeding, so waiting can cost you the opportunity.
The guides describe this encounter trigger but do not establish that a Nekker appears on every qualifying outing.
Turn in the bounty and claim its rewards
Once you capture the Nekker, report the bounty. Game8 lists the rewards as 800 research points, one Nekker Card (Attack), and one Nekker Card (Defense). Capcom says the Nekker α Palico armor and Cursed Staff α become available in the Smithy’s list after completion of a special bounty; the detailed capture steps and reward list above are from Game8. No Nekker appears

Make sure you are in the Ancient Forest at night.

Look for Great Jagras and follow it after it eats an Aptonoth; the Nekker encounter is associated with the feeding sequence.

If it does not appear, the available guides do not establish a guaranteed spawn on every outing.

The Nekker disappears
Have the Capture Net equipped before Great Jagras regurgitates food, then fire as soon as the Nekker approaches.
