Prepare the page in the language you need
- Open a representative page in the intended regional-language version. If the site offers a language selector, use it before capturing.
- Record the exact page URL and how you selected the language, such as a language setting or a locale-specific URL. This makes the capture repeatable.
- Check the visible page for the expected script, direction, and language before proceeding. A capture cannot correct a page that is displaying the wrong locale.
The available documentation does not establish which language or script settings VisualScraper supports, nor does it verify current interface labels. Confirm the product and version you are using before relying on a particular setting.

Capture and preserve the rendered page
Capture the representative page in its rendered state using the VisualScraper workflow available in your installation. Keep the original screenshot or export, and retain any extracted text separately. Comparing the text with the original is important when it includes diacritics, combining marks, unusual punctuation, or right-to-left layout.

For selectable webpage text
Use ordinary page-text extraction when the text is part of the webpage. OCR is meant for text represented visually in an image; it adds an unnecessary recognition step for ordinary page text and can introduce errors.
For text inside images or scans
Use OCR when the words are baked into an image, appear in a video frame, or are on a scanned document. That describes Ui.Vision, not a feature verified for VisualScraper.

Check character and OCR accuracy
- Choose a short but representative sample from the captured page. Include accented letters, combining marks, punctuation, and right-to-left text if the page uses them.
- Compare extracted characters with the rendered page or preserved screenshot. Check word order and line grouping as well as individual characters.
- If characters are garbled, identify whether the problem is already visible in the page rendering, occurs during text extraction, or is introduced by OCR. Change only the stage that is responsible.
- For OCR, test a real sample in the relevant language and script, then correct errors before treating the output as reliable. The cited documentation does not establish accuracy for every regional language.
Garbled multilingual text can relate to character encoding, but that possibility alone does not identify the cause. Check the rendered page and the extracted output separately before changing encoding or OCR settings.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The capture shows the wrong language: Reopen the page, select the intended locale, and record the URL and selection method before capturing again.
- Text is garbled in the extracted result: Compare it with the rendered page. If the page itself looks wrong, investigate page rendering; if the screenshot is correct but extracted text is not, investigate extraction or OCR.
- OCR misses or changes characters: Check the relevant language and script configuration in the OCR tool, then validate a representative sample manually. Do not assume support or accuracy for every language.
- Selectable text is being sent through OCR: Switch to ordinary page-text extraction. Reserve OCR for image-based text.
- VisualScraper instructions do not match your interface: Product-specific current controls could not be verified here. Check documentation for the exact VisualScraper version in use rather than applying settings documented for another tool.
