HTMLCSStoImage documents font loading through its google_fonts parameter, a self-hosted @font-face, or a font CDN. Its documentation confirms Noto CJK for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, but does not make a Hindi-specific guarantee, so inspect the actual output rather than assuming Devanagari will render correctly by default.
Choose how to supply the font
First check what the page uses. A public page may already load a web font through its own stylesheet; if that font or stylesheet does not load in the capture, specify a font explicitly. HTMLCSStoImage documents three options. The right choice depends on whether you want the service to load a Google font, want to control the font file yourself, or already use a font CDN.

| Method | When to use it | What to do |
|---|---|---|
google_fonts |
You want HTMLCSStoImage to load a Google Fonts family. | Pass the family using the API’s google_fonts parameter, then set that family on the Hindi text in CSS. |
Self-hosted @font-face |
You have a font file hosted somewhere the renderer can reach, or want to control the exact file used. | Declare the font in CSS with @font-face and apply its family to the relevant text. |
| Font CDN | Your chosen font is provided by an external font stylesheet or service. | Make the stylesheet available to the rendered page and apply the family it defines. |
Whichever route you choose, verify that the font includes the Devanagari glyphs used on the page. A font-family name alone does not ensure that the font contains every character you need.
Capture a public Hindi page
- Pass the full public page address using
url. HTMLCSStoImage’s URL path captures a public webpage. Its API also accepts supplied HTML with optional CSS, if you are rendering your own markup instead. - Provide the font. Use
google_fonts, a reachable@font-facefile, or a font CDN. The parameter reference describescssas styling that can be injected when using a URL. - Apply the font to the Hindi content. For example, the CSS should name your chosen family and include a generic fallback:
/* Replace ExampleDevanagariFont with the family you actually load. */
.hindi-content {
font-family: "ExampleDevanagariFont", sans-serif;
}
The CSS above is illustrative: the family name must match the font you load. Google recommends including a generic fallback such as sans-serif or serif. A fallback can help if a web font fails to load, but it is not proof that the fallback covers the specific Devanagari glyphs on the page.

- Fully customizable keyboard wallpaper and layout.
- Lots of themes / emoji / emoticons, multiple funky font, typing sounds, typing sounds, typing effects available to choose from.
- Choose the capture area. Use
full_screenfor the whole scrollable page; otherwise the capture is limited to the viewport or the crop you request. - Wait for fonts and page content. If the image is taken too early, use
render_when_readywith aScreenshotReady()signal when you control the page. Otherwise, tunems_delayand inspect the result. The FAQ suggests 500 ms as a starting delay to adjust; it is not a guarantee that every page or font will be ready in that time. The parameter reference also listsmax_wait_ms. - Inspect the resulting image. Check representative Hindi words, conjuncts, vowel marks, punctuation, and any text mixing Latin and Devanagari characters.
Wait for the font before capture
A page may begin rendering before its stylesheet or font file has finished loading. When you control the page, signal readiness only after the resources and scripts needed for the capture are ready, then use render_when_ready and call ScreenshotReady(). If you do not control the page, increase ms_delay from the FAQ’s 500 ms starting point and check the output. A longer delay can help with late-loading resources, but the result still needs visual verification.
The available parameter reference also lists max_wait_ms. Treat it as a cap on waiting, not as a substitute for ensuring the font is reachable and applied. If a capture remains inconsistent, test whether the font loads in the page itself and whether the chosen family contains the needed characters.

Diagnose common Hindi font problems
| What appears in the capture | Likely issue | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Empty boxes or missing characters | The active font may not contain the required glyphs, or the intended font may not have loaded. | Confirm the renderer can reach the font source, that the CSS uses the correct family name, and that the font covers the page’s Devanagari characters. Try an explicit font route rather than relying on the site’s defaults. |
| Hindi appears in a different typeface | The selected family may not have been applied to the Hindi text, or the browser may be falling back. | Check the CSS selector against the actual content and confirm the family is loaded before capture. Keep a generic fallback in the family list. |
| Vowel marks or conjuncts look wrong | The rendered text may be using a font without suitable glyph coverage, or capture may occur before font loading completes. | Check the chosen font against the actual text and wait for readiness with render_when_ready where possible; otherwise adjust ms_delay. |
| Some content is missing lower down the page | The capture may cover only the viewport, or page content may load after the screenshot begins. | Use full_screen for a full-page capture and allow the page and its font resources to finish loading. |
What HTMLCSStoImage documents about Devanagari support
HTMLCSStoImage says custom fonts can be supplied through google_fonts, self-hosted @font-face, or font CDNs. Its FAQ says: “Yes. We have Noto CJK installed in our renderer. If you find any language or character set that doesn’t render correctly, email us and we’ll add support for it.” That answer is about Chinese, Japanese, and Korean; it does not establish whether Devanagari fonts are installed by default. The cited official documentation therefore does not provide a Hindi-specific compatibility guarantee. If an explicitly loaded font still fails, contact HTMLCSStoImage support about the specific font or characters.
