Make a basic screenshot request
Microlink’s screenshot endpoint accepts the target page’s url and the screenshot parameter. Use screenshot=true for default capture settings. The request below asks for JSON and disables metadata extraction, which Microlink says is usually the largest speedup when you only need the screenshot.

Ask the target site for Hindi
Language is negotiated with the website being captured, not translated by the screenshot API. If the site serves localized pages based on request headers, pass Accept-Language: hi. Microlink documents forwarding public header values such as language; its guide treats cookies and authorization data as sensitive values and documents those separately.

When the header is not enough
- If the website has a Hindi-specific URL or path, capture that URL directly.
- If the page uses a language menu, reproduce that choice before capture.
- Some sites select language using cookies or account settings, while others ignore
Accept-Language. - Check the captured text; the header cannot translate an untranslated page.
Wait until the Hindi content is ready
Navigation finishing does not necessarily mean a JavaScript-rendered page has displayed its Hindi text. Prefer waiting for an element that appears only when the desired content is present. A generic page shell or header may exist before the page has finished rendering.

The screenshot parameter also supports an object for capture options, including full-page capture and image type. Microlink documents options for element capture, output type, quality, and related settings; check the current parameter reference for exact names and supported values. For a manually constructed direct-image URL, encode the nested page URL, for example: https://api.microlink.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.in%2Fhindi-page&screenshot=true&meta=false&embed=screenshot.url.
Check Devanagari rendering
Open or inspect the returned image rather than assuming the browser rendered every character correctly. Look for empty squares, broken conjuncts, misplaced vowel marks (matras), or an unexpected fallback font. Microlink’s documented CSS injection can set a font-family, but its reviewed materials do not publish a Hindi-specific font inventory or promise that a named Devanagari font is installed.
If glyphs are missing, make a Devanagari-capable font available to the rendered page—such as by having the target load it—and use a documented style injection to select it if needed. That only helps if the font is actually reachable by the rendering browser. Verify the resulting screenshot; do not assume a CSS declaration by itself supplies a missing font. Troubleshoot common capture problems
- The screenshot is in another language: The target may ignore the language header or choose language through a URL, cookie, or interface control. Use the site’s Hindi route or select Hindi, then wait for a Hindi-specific content element.
- The screenshot is blank or incomplete: The page may still be rendering when capture begins. Wait for a content-specific selector; use a lifecycle condition or a delay only if no reliable selector exists.
- Lazy-loaded content is missing: Trigger the relevant scroll behavior before capture, or use full-page capture with an appropriate readiness condition.
- A language menu or tab is closed: Click the control before capture, then wait for a selector that confirms the Hindi view is active.
- Devanagari characters appear as squares or malformed marks: Check the actual image and make a suitable font accessible to the rendered page. Microlink’s reviewed documentation does not guarantee a bundled Hindi font.
- The response is JSON when you expected an image: Use the JSON field
data.screenshot.url, or requestembed=screenshot.urlfor direct image delivery.
