In Firefox, choose Take Screenshot → Save full page; in Chrome, use DevTools’ Capture a full size screenshot; on an iPhone, take a normal screenshot and select Full Page; on Android 12 or later, tap Capture more. Samsung Galaxy phones label the equivalent control Scroll Capture.
These features capture content below the visible screen, but their availability, output format and maximum length vary by browser, device and app. The instructions below separate image captures from PDF output and explain what to do when a page is dynamic, extremely long or refuses to scroll.
What an entire-page capture does
An ordinary screenshot records only the current viewport. A scrolling or full-page capture stitches the page area outside that viewport into one tall image, or creates a paginated document such as a PDF. It is useful for archiving an article, sending a design review, documenting a receipt or preserving a page state for support.
It is not guaranteed to include every item on an infinite-scroll feed or content that appears only after interaction. Lazy-loaded images, consent dialogs, bot checks and pages that continuously add new items can change the result. If you need a printable document rather than one very tall image, use a PDF option or the browser’s print-to-PDF workflow.

Firefox on a desktop: Save full page
Firefox has a full-page command in its built-in screenshot tool.
- Open the page you want to preserve.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. Mozilla also documents a keyboard shortcut that opens this tool if the context-menu command is unavailable.
- Choose Save full page. This captures content beyond the current viewport. Choose Save visible only when you want the screen currently shown.
- Use the resulting controls to download the image or copy it, depending on the options displayed by your Firefox version.
When Firefox’s result is incomplete
Scroll through the page once before capturing if images or sections load only as they approach the viewport. Close overlays that cover the page, and wait for moving content to settle. A page that keeps extending as you scroll may not have a meaningful endpoint; capture a defined section or save a PDF instead.
Chrome desktop: Capture a full-size screenshot in DevTools
Chrome’s documented full-page route is in Developer Tools, not the normal toolbar screenshot button.
- Open the target page in Chrome.
- Open DevTools with your usual method, or use Chrome’s menu to open More tools → Developer tools.
- Open the screenshot controls in DevTools. In current Chrome releases, the command is available from the DevTools command menu: open it, search for Capture, and select Capture full size screenshot.
- Chrome saves an image containing the page outside the viewport. Check the download location and open the file to verify that the bottom of the page is present.
Why DevTools matters
Chrome’s standard browser toolbar does not expose the same full-size command on every installation. If you cannot find it, make sure DevTools is open and search its command menu for “full size.” Device emulation can change the viewport used for the capture, so select the desktop or mobile dimensions you actually need before running the command.

iPhone: use Full Page after the normal screenshot
Apple’s built-in workflow is designed for webpages in Safari and saves a full-page capture as a PDF.

- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Take a screenshot with your iPhone’s normal button combination.
- Tap the screenshot preview that appears.
- At the top of the editor, select Full Page instead of Screen. A page preview appears with a scrollable thumbnail.
- Use the crop handles if you need only part of the document, then tap the share button and save the result to Files or another destination.
The iPhone route produces a PDF for an entire webpage rather than a single, infinitely tall PNG. That is usually better for printing or sending a multipage document. The option appears only when the captured content supports Apple’s full-page mode; a non-web screen may offer only the visible screenshot.
Android phones and tablets: Capture more
Google’s general instructions apply to Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. Manufacturers can rename, move or omit the control.
- Open the scrollable page or app screen.
- Take a screenshot, commonly by pressing Power + Volume down together.
- Tap Capture more at the bottom of the screenshot preview.
- Move the crop guidelines to include the exact content you want. The preview extends as you adjust the selection.
- Tap the save control when the selected range is complete.
If Capture more is missing, the screen may not expose a scrollable surface, your device may use a manufacturer-specific label, or the app may block extended captures. Check the phone maker’s support instructions and try the feature in a standard browser page to determine whether the limitation is app-specific.

Samsung places its equivalent in the screenshot toolbar.
- Enable the screenshot toolbar in Settings if it is not already shown after a capture. The exact menu wording differs by One UI release, so search Settings for “screenshot toolbar.”
- Open the webpage, then take a screenshot.
- Tap Scroll Capture in the toolbar. Continue tapping or holding the control until the required section has been added.
- Save the resulting image and review the bottom edge before sharing.
Samsung notes that available scroll length varies with the content and that Scroll Capture may not be offered for certain websites or apps. If the control stops early, capture smaller sections or use a PDF/desktop workflow.

There is no universally best option. Choose Firefox or Chrome when you need a desktop image, iPhone Full Page when a multipage PDF is preferable, and Capture more or Scroll Capture when you are already reading on a phone.
Image versus PDF: choose before you capture
Use a full-page image when
- You need one visual reference for a design, bug report or social post.
- The recipient must see the original layout without pagination.
- You will place the capture in another image or design tool.
Use PDF when
- The page is long enough that a tall image is difficult to open or print.
- You need page breaks, selectable text or a file suitable for document storage.
- You are using iPhone Full Page or a browser print-to-PDF alternative.
Print-to-PDF is an alternative document workflow, not the same thing as a full-page image. Print styles can hide navigation, change colors or omit interactive elements.

- Wait for content: allow fonts, images and client-rendered sections to finish before starting.
- Trigger lazy loading: slowly scroll through the page first if lower images appear only when they approach the viewport.
- Stop infinite feeds: define a cutoff date or section. An endless social feed has no stable “entire page.”
- Dismiss obstructive UI: close cookie dialogs, newsletter prompts and chat bubbles so they do not cover the capture.
- Check the bottom: open the saved file and verify that the final heading, images and footer are present.
- Mind file size: a very tall, high-resolution image can be slow to open and share. Crop it, reduce resolution or use a PDF when practical.
Troubleshooting common failures
The full-page option is missing
Confirm that you are in a supported browser or device mode. Chrome’s command is in DevTools, not necessarily the toolbar. Android’s Capture more is limited to Android 12+ and most scrollable screens, while Samsung can restrict Scroll Capture by app or website.
The capture ends at the visible screen
You may have selected Firefox’s Save visible, taken a normal Chrome screenshot, or used an app that does not expose scrollable content. Reopen the relevant full-page command and test it on a simple long webpage.
Images or sections are blank
Wait for loading, disable a reader-mode transformation that removes content, and scroll through the page once to trigger lazy loading. If the page requires a sign-in, keep the session active while capturing.

A cookie banner or chat widget covers the page
Accept or dismiss the banner and close the widget before capturing. If the dialog returns on every load, use the page’s preferences control or a capture service that can handle consent UI before the screenshot.

The file is too tall to use
Capture a defined section, split the page into several ranges, lower the device’s display scale where supported, or choose a PDF. A paginated file is often easier to print and review.
Scrolling stops on a protected page
Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, failed loads and script errors cannot be solved by repeatedly pressing the screenshot button. Complete legitimate verification in the browser, then retry. If the page still fails, capture the accessible sections or use an authorized API workflow.

Which method should you use?
For a one-off desktop image, use Firefox Save full page or Chrome DevTools. For an iPhone document, choose Full Page and save the PDF. On Android, try Capture more, or Samsung’s Scroll Capture on Galaxy devices. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I capture a page that requires scrolling inside a specific panel?
Browser full-page tools generally target the document, not every nested scroll container. If the panel is not included, capture it separately or use ScreenshotNeo’s CSS-selector element capture for the authorized element.
Will a scrolling screenshot include content behind a login?
Only if the browser or capture request has a valid authenticated session. Keep the browser signed in, or provide authorized cookies or headers when using an API.
Why is my PDF split differently from the webpage?
PDF generation follows print layout rules, margins and page size. Fixed headers, print CSS and page-break rules can change pagination even when the visible webpage looks continuous.
Is an infinite-scroll page capturable as one complete file?
Usually not in a meaningful sense because it has no fixed end. Set a content boundary, capture a defined range, or save several sections.
