To capture the part of a website currently visible in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10, press Windows logo key + Shift + S, select the area, then open the snip in Snipping Tool to edit, save, or share it. For the whole screen saved directly as an image, use Windows logo key + PrtScn. A normal snip captures visible screen content, not the entire scrollable webpage.
Capture the visible part of a website in Edge
- Prepare the page. Open the website in Edge and arrange it so the content you want is visible. Close or move private information and unrelated windows out of the way.
- Open the capture overlay. Press Windows logo key + Shift + S. The screen dims and Snipping Tool presents capture options.
- Select the website area. Drag over the portion of the screen you want to capture.
- Edit or save the snip. Open the capture notification or Snipping Tool to crop or annotate the image, then save or share it. The capture is also copied to the clipboard, so you can paste it into a compatible app.
Microsoft documents this shortcut for Windows 10 and Windows 11. See Microsoft’s Snipping Tool instructions and its Windows keyboard-shortcut reference.

Capture the whole screen to an image file
If you want an image of the entire display rather than a selected region, press Windows logo key + PrtScn. Windows saves the screenshot in the PicturesScreenshots folder. If your keyboard has no PrtScn key, Microsoft notes that Fn + Windows logo key + Space Bar may take a screenshot; the exact behavior can vary by device and keyboard.

Need the whole webpage, not just what is on screen?
A standard snip records the pixels visible at capture time. It does not automatically stitch the content below the fold into one long screenshot. If you need a page-style record, use Edge’s print workflow instead: press Ctrl + P to open printing, or Ctrl + Shift + P to open the system print dialog. Printing produces print output rather than a screenshot image. Microsoft documents these shortcuts in its Edge keyboard-shortcut reference.

Check the screenshot before sharing
- Confirm the page is showing the section you meant to capture.
- Check the edges of the selection for browser chrome, other windows, or private details you did not intend to include.
- If you need information farther down the page, scroll and capture additional regions, or use the print workflow when a document-style record is suitable.
Or skip the browser setup
For developer workflows that need screenshots returned by an API, ScreenshotNeo can return a website capture with one GET request. Its cleanup accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. It also provides an MCP server with screenshot tools for AI agents.
Example cURL request (replace the URL with the page you want):
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
