The key detail: a payment notification is an event, not necessarily the webpage to capture. The screenshot action needs a specific, accessible webpage URL, so provide that URL directly or derive it from your own order or site data.
What the workflow captures
Razorpay can notify Zapier that a payment-related event occurred. A separate screenshot action then captures the webpage URL you give it. The event name alone does not tell Zapier which customer-facing page to screenshot; the cited integration listing does not establish that Razorpay’s event payload automatically includes that target URL. GetScreenshot’s Zapier listing requires a Website URL.

Decide what page you need before building the Zap: for example, a public order-status page or a page your own system identifies from an order record. If each payment maps to a different page, use data or logic you control to supply the corresponding URL. Do not assume that a payment event can be screenshotted without a URL.

Zapier lists native Razorpay payment triggers, including Payment Captured, Payment Link Paid, Payment Page Paid, Invoice Paid, and Payment Failed. Choose a native trigger if the event you need appears in your account’s available trigger list. Zapier’s Razorpay integration listing describes the available triggers.

Alternatively, receive a Razorpay webhook using Webhooks by Zapier’s Catch Hook trigger. Razorpay describes webhooks as asynchronous server-to-server event notifications and sends configured event data as HTTP POST JSON to the endpoint you configure. Use Catch Hook for parsed requests; Zapier also documents Catch Raw Hook for unparsed requests with headers. Build the Zap
- Add the trigger. In Zapier, create a Zap and choose either the Razorpay trigger for your required payment event or Webhooks by Zapier’s Catch Hook. For a direct webhook, copy the Catch Hook URL generated by Zapier.
- Configure Razorpay if using a webhook. In Razorpay’s dashboard, open webhook settings, enter the Zapier URL, and select the event or events to send. Razorpay documents separate Test and Live mode webhook setup; configure and test in the mode that matches your intended payment flow. Keep the unique Zapier hook URL private. Zapier notes that the trigger URL is tied to the Zap owner, so update the originating app’s webhook URL if you transfer the Zap. Details: Razorpay webhook setup and Zapier webhook trigger guidance.
- Test the trigger. Use a suitable test payment or webhook and confirm Zapier receives the event and the fields you expect. The URL to screenshot may need to come from your own order data or site logic rather than the event itself.
- Add the screenshot action. Choose GetScreenshot’s “Take Website Screenshot” action and map a real, accessible URL into its Website URL field. Select full-page capture and set the width appropriate for the output. If you need only one component of the page, use the element screenshot action and provide the required element selector. The integration also lists HTML to Image as a URL-to-image action. See the GetScreenshot integration listing and the HTML to Image listing.
- Choose what happens to the image. Add a later Zap action to deliver or store the screenshot. The GetScreenshot listing says the image can be made available to following actions and lists an email action. If your Zap has three or more steps, check the current plan requirement: the listing says a Starter plan is needed for Zaps with three or more steps.
- Test the full Zap, then publish it. Confirm that the screenshot step receives the intended URL and returns an image that the next action can use. This is a recommended validation step, not a guarantee that every target page or payment flow will work unchanged.
Make payment timing and fulfillment safe
Razorpay says webhooks are asynchronous and near real-time, not a synchronous confirmation channel. If an immediate payment state is critical to your application, Razorpay recommends supplementing webhook automation with an API fetch if the webhook has not arrived within the required time. For fulfillment, follow Razorpay’s guidance to deliver goods or services only after the payment is captured; an authorized payment is not the same as a captured payment. If you build a direct webhook receiver outside Zapier, follow Razorpay’s current instructions for verifying webhook signatures rather than trusting arbitrary incoming requests. Razorpay’s callback_url is a checkout parameter for WebView or redirect flows; it is not a substitute for server-side webhooks to track payment status.
Choose the screenshot target and output
- Whole page or one element: Use full-page capture when the full document matters. Use the element action when a specific component is the subject, and supply its CSS selector.
- Image delivery: Pass the action’s image output to a later Zap step, such as an email or a supported storage/delivery action. Check the receiving action’s input requirements.
- Public or access-controlled page: Start with a URL the screenshot service can reach. The GetScreenshot listing exposes an experimental login-bypass field, but that does not establish that it will work for any particular site; do not rely on it without testing your own target.
- Changing page content: Test the exact URL and page state you intend to capture. Payment pages may vary by customer, order, or session; only use URL and access data your workflow is authorized to handle.
Troubleshoot common problems
- The screenshot step has no Website URL: The payment event is only a signal. Map a fixed URL or a URL produced from your own order record or site logic.
- The wrong page is captured: Inspect the URL mapped into Website URL in the test run. Confirm that it corresponds to the relevant order and is not a generic payment or redirect URL.
- The screenshot is empty or incomplete: Verify that the URL is accessible to the screenshot action and that it shows the expected content without an unavailable session. Test full-page capture and width settings; for a component, check the selector.
- The Zap does not trigger: Check that the Razorpay event is selected and that the test and live modes match your configuration. For a direct webhook, confirm the Razorpay endpoint is the current Catch Hook URL and send a fresh test event.
- Payment status is missing or appears late: Webhooks are asynchronous. For time-critical status decisions, use the API verification approach described by Razorpay instead of treating the notification as an immediate, synchronous result.
- A transferred Zap stops receiving webhooks: Zapier says the hook URL is tied to its owner. Replace the endpoint in the originating Razorpay configuration with the URL for the new owner’s Zap.
- The next action cannot use the result: Review the GetScreenshot step’s test output and the receiving action’s required input type. If the Zap contains three or more steps, check whether the account plan meets the integration listing’s Starter-plan requirement.

Should I use Razorpay’s callback_url or a webhook in Zapier?
Use a webhook for server-side payment-event notifications. Razorpay says callback_url is for WebView or redirect flows and is not a replacement for webhooks.
Can a webhook confirm payment instantly?
No. Razorpay describes webhooks as asynchronous; use its API-fetch guidance when an immediate status check is critical.
