A delay is not the same as detecting readiness
A fixed delay measures elapsed time. It does not check that a target element exists, that a single-page application has finished updating, or that all asynchronous work has stopped. A page can take longer than the chosen wait, or become visually ready earlier.
For comparison, Cloudflare’s Browser Run screenshot documentation describes waiting for network idle or a CSS selector. Cloudflare notes that JavaScript-heavy pages and SPAs can still be incomplete under default page-load behavior. Those are Cloudflare-specific controls, not verified Abstract API options; do not pass them to Abstract unless its current documentation confirms support. Direct HTTP requests: verify the current endpoint first
The available Abstract reference documents the Python SDK, not a current REST endpoint specification. It therefore does not establish the HTTP parameter name, delay unit or limits for a direct request. Before writing a cURL, Python requests, or Node.js fetch request, confirm those details in Abstract API’s current documentation. Translating the SDK argument into a query parameter without that confirmation could produce a request that silently ignores the wait or fails.

Troubleshooting capture timing
- The screenshot misses content that appears later: increase the SDK’s
delayvalue in seconds, then inspect another capture. A fixed wait cannot guarantee a condition-specific result. - The capture takes longer than necessary: lower the delay and check whether the needed content remains visible. The right value depends on the target page; no general timing benchmark is established.
- The URL is rejected or does not load: check that it is complete and begins with
http://orhttps://. - An assumed REST parameter has no effect: verify the current endpoint’s parameter name, units, and supported settings. The SDK reference alone does not settle REST syntax.
- You need to wait for a specific element: the reviewed Abstract SDK reference does not establish selector-based waiting. Cloudflare documents that pattern for its own endpoint; do not treat it as portable between providers.
