In Firefox on Linux, click the Awesome Screenshot toolbar icon and choose Capture Entire Page. If the command is unavailable or the extension cannot capture that page, Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool can save a full-page image: press Ctrl+Shift+S and select Save full page.
Capture the entire page with Awesome Screenshot
- Open the page you want to capture in Firefox.
- Click the Awesome Screenshot icon in the browser toolbar. If you do not see it, check the extensions menu and confirm the add-on is installed and enabled.
- Select Capture Entire Page. That is the Firefox menu label in the extension’s instructions; do not look for the differently worded command used in its Chrome and Edge instructions. See the Awesome Screenshot full-page capture instructions.
- Save or edit the resulting capture using the options presented by the extension.
The add-on is listed by Mozilla as Awesome Screenshot & Screen Recorder, developed by Diigo Inc. Its Mozilla Add-ons listing identifies version 4.3.7.21, last updated November 19, 2025; check the current listing if the icon or command is missing, since the listing notes that accelerated Firefox upgrades can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

Use Firefox’s built-in full-page screenshot
This is the quickest fallback if you do not want to install an extension or Awesome Screenshot cannot act on the page.
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Either right-click an empty part of the page and choose Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Choose Save full page.
- Save the image to Firefox’s configured download folder, or copy it to the clipboard if that option is presented.
Mozilla’s Linux instructions say Ctrl+S saves the screenshot image after the screenshot interface has produced it. See Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot guide.

Use Firefox Developer Tools for a full-page capture
For a developer workflow, Firefox provides a screenshot button and a Web Console command.
Enable the screenshot button
- Open Firefox Developer Tools.
- Open Developer Tools settings and find Available Toolbox Buttons.
- Enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Use the screenshot icon in the Developer Tools toolbar to capture the page.
Run the Web Console command
Open the Web Console and enter:
:screenshot --fullpage

Choose the method that fits the job

Troubleshoot a missing or failed capture
The Awesome Screenshot command is disabled
Firefox limits extension access to some browser-restricted pages, including web store pages and extension pages. A disabled command on one of these pages does not necessarily mean the add-on is broken. Awesome Screenshot recommends using a visible-part capture and cropping it for restricted pages; for other capture problems, see its Firefox extension troubleshooting guidance.
Only full-page capture fails on an ordinary website
The vendor does not promise that every page will capture successfully. Its support article asks users to provide the page URL when only the full-page feature fails so it can investigate. Meanwhile, try Firefox’s built-in Save full page option.

The extension icon or option disappeared after a Firefox update
Check the Mozilla Add-ons listing for the current extension status and compatibility information. The listing notes that accelerated Firefox upgrades can sometimes make the extension incompatible.
Firefox’s screenshot selection behaves unexpectedly on Linux
Mozilla notes that crosshair movement in its native screenshot interface does not work on Wayland. This is a limitation of Firefox’s selection interface, not evidence that Awesome Screenshot has the same limitation. If it affects your workflow, try the extension or Developer Tools method.

Review permissions before installing the extension
The Mozilla Add-ons listing says the extension requests access to browser tabs, downloads, clipboard input, and data for all websites. Review those permissions and the linked privacy policy before installing, especially if you capture sensitive pages. The listing says screenshot and video content is private by default unless the account owner chooses to share it. Basic full-page capture is listed as a feature; the available information does not establish that a paid plan is required for it.
