Cancellation turns off renewal; your benefits generally continue through the period you have already paid for. Use the steps below, then check the subscription’s end date in your account.
Cancel PlayStation Plus in a web browser
- Sign in to PlayStation Account Management.
- Select Subscription from the left menu.
- Select Cancel Subscription next to PlayStation Plus and follow any on-screen prompts.
Cancel on a PS5
- Open Settings.
- Go to Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Select PlayStation Plus, then choose Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Cancel on a PS4
- Open PlayStation Plus.
- Choose Manage Membership > Subscription.
- Select Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Sony’s English support instructions are for the UK locale; menu wording can vary by account region or software version. If a label differs, use Sony’s current cancellation instructions or find the subscription under your account’s subscription settings.

When does access end after cancellation?
Canceling prevents the subscription from renewing; it does not usually end your access immediately. You can use Plus benefits until the end of the subscription period you have already paid for. PlayStation’s US cancellation policy describes the timing this way: “When you do this your subscription will continue until the next payment becomes due, at which point it will end.” The exact billing and policy details depend on your region.

If you change your mind before the next payment date, Sony says you can choose Reactivate Subscription to keep the subscription active.

What happens to games and other benefits?
When the subscription expires, PlayStation Plus benefits end, including online storage, online multiplayer, and access to monthly games claimed through the subscription. Sony says redeemed Plus packs and avatars remain yours, as do purchases made at a Plus discount. The monthly games are not the same as games you bought at a discount: the former depend on an active subscription, while discounted purchases remain yours.
Cancellation does not automatically refund a payment
Turning off renewal stops future subscription fees; it does not by itself refund a payment already made. PlayStation’s US cancellation policy and US PS Plus usage terms say prior payments are not refunded merely because a subscription is canceled. Refund eligibility and request procedures depend on your country or region and purchase details. Check the PlayStation Store cancellation policy for your region or contact PlayStation Support if you want to request a refund.
