To avoid paying for a service you no longer want, find out who bills your Paramount+ or Max subscription, cancel through that company, and confirm the cancellation and effective date. A new bundle or streaming subscription does not cancel the old one automatically. Max provides a specific cancellation route for direct-billed accounts, but its timing warning is provider-dependent; the available Paramount+ support information does not establish exact cancellation steps or a cutoff.
Before cancelling, identify who bills the subscription
Cancellation usually has to be handled by the company that bills you—not necessarily the streaming service whose app you use. For Max, open Max’s subscription-management page or the Subscription screen in the app; the billing provider appears at the top. A bank statement or your internet, mobile, or TV provider may also help identify the biller.

Once you know the biller, use this checklist:
- Locate the next billing date or renewal date.
- Cancel in the account or subscription settings of the company that bills you.
- Save the confirmation and note the stated cancellation or expiration date.
- Check the account again to make sure it no longer shows as active.
Do not treat deleting an app as cancellation. Max says subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled and advises cancelling before the next billing date to avoid further charges. Its guidance is specific to Max; the Paramount+ materials cited below do not establish whether deleting that app stops billing. Max’s cancellation guidance

How to cancel Max
Find the billing provider
- Go to max.com/subscription and sign in, or open Max and go to the profile’s Subscription screen. On a TV, look for Subscription in Settings.
- Read the billing provider shown at the top. If the account does not offer a cancellation control, that provider—not Max—is the place to manage the subscription.
Cancel a subscription billed directly by Max
- On max.com/subscription, choose “Cancel Your Subscription” if that control is shown.
- Confirm the cancellation and record the expiration date. Keep the confirmation email or a screenshot.
Max says access continues until the subscription expires at the end of the billing period. Its cancellation page describes the direct cancellation route.

Cancel through a third-party provider
If another company bills you, manage the subscription through that provider’s subscription settings or contact its support. Max lists Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung TV, Amazon Appstore, Prime Video Channels, and internet, mobile, or TV providers. The listed channels are not available in every region: Max’s page lists Amazon Appstore for Brazil and Mexico, and Prime Video Channels for Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. Check Max’s provider guidance and the provider shown in your own account.
Allow time before renewal and verify
Max warns that some billing providers may require cancellation at least 24 hours before the next billing period. That is not a universal deadline: check the rule for the provider billing your account and leave as much time as possible. After cancelling, revisit the account to confirm it is no longer active and keep the confirmation and expiration date.

How to cancel Paramount+
The official Paramount+ support information available here does not document a current cancellation sequence or a deadline for avoiding a renewal charge. It explains how to change a plan through paramountplus.com and the profile/account area, and says plan changes cannot be made directly on an LG TV; that is not a cancellation procedure. How to switch services without paying for both by mistake
Handle cancellation and sign-up as separate transactions. Before subscribing through a new bundle or provider, check the account for the service you intend to leave and any app-store, device-platform, or carrier subscriptions. A new plan does not prove the old one has ended.

- Identify the old subscription’s biller and next renewal date.
- Cancel with that biller and save the confirmation.
- Check the stated expiration date or last day of access.
- Before completing the new subscription, check that the old account is no longer active.
This is particularly important when billing is handled outside the streaming service: the provider’s account is where you need to confirm the old subscription’s status.
Why Max might charge you after cancellation
Max lists several possible reasons for a charge after a cancellation attempt: the cancellation was too close to automatic renewal, the subscription remains active, there are multiple accounts or subscriptions, or an annual plan is still within its paid term. Max’s unexpected-charge guidance also says annual subscriptions billed directly through WarnerMedia continue to be charged monthly until the annual subscription expires and that partial-year refunds or credits are not provided. Those details relate to the billing context described on that page; check the terms and status of your own plan and provider.
