Cancel the active order in the DoorDash app
- Open DoorDash and tap Orders.
- Select the active order.
- Tap Help. If shown, you can also use the Cancel Order button in Order Details.
- Choose Cancel Order and follow the prompts to submit the request.
These steps follow DoorDash’s US cancellation guidance. Act promptly: the order’s progress can affect whether cancellation is available and what refund or credit DoorDash may offer.

Cancel on the DoorDash website
- Choose Order, then Orders.
- Open the live order and select Help.
- Choose Cancel Order and follow the prompts.
If the live order or cancellation option does not appear, contact DoorDash support through the order’s Help controls.

Request an order change, such as adding or removing an item
DoorDash says customers can request adjustments if the restaurant has not processed the order. An adjustment is a request, not a guaranteed edit.

- Choose Make adjustments to this order, if available.
- Describe the change—such as removing or adding an item—and submit it.
- If the adjustment option is missing, choose Chat with Support and explain what you need.
The adjustment route is described in DoorDash’s order-change guidance. Contact support quickly if the restaurant may already be processing the order.
Will you get a refund if you cancel?
A cancellation request and a refund decision are separate. DoorDash’s general guidance for orders that are not late ties refund or credit eligibility to whether the merchant has confirmed the order and whether a Dasher has been assigned. The outcomes below are guidance, not a guarantee for an individual order; DoorDash says refunds and credits are at its discretion and subject to its Consumer Terms.

For an accidental duplicate order, DoorDash says self-service cancellation is unavailable once the merchant has confirmed it. Its duplicate-order help page lists in-app chat and phone support at 855-431-0459; the US order-support category lists chat and call support as available 24/7. Check the live Help screen because controls and support routes can change.
What to know about orders placed by voice
DoorDash’s reviewed US consumer instructions explain the standard app and website controls, but do not specify whether an order placed through a voice assistant or another voice method has a distinct workflow. They also do not establish a universal voice command for cancelling or changing an order. Start with the active order in DoorDash; if it is missing or the relevant control is unavailable, contact support and explain how you placed it.
