To cancel a Puppeteer device request prompt, call and await cancel() on the DeviceRequestPrompt returned by page.waitForDevicePrompt(). Start waiting before you trigger the page’s device request; Puppeteer does not return a prompt that is already active.
Cancel the prompt with DeviceRequestPrompt.cancel()
Start the wait and the page action together so the listener is ready before the control triggers a device request:

await devicePrompt.cancel();Replace #connect-device with the selector for the control that requests a device. The example assumes page is your Puppeteer page object. cancel() returns a promise, so await it before continuing.
Why the order matters
page.waitForDevicePrompt() must be called before the page requests a device. If the prompt is already active when you start waiting, the method will not return that prompt. Starting the wait and clicking the control in Promise.all avoids the common race where the click happens first.

Canceling is different from selecting a device
DeviceRequestPrompt is Puppeteer’s API for responding to a page’s request for a device, such as a WebBluetooth request. The prompt provides methods to wait for a matching device, select a device, or cancel the prompt.
- Call
cancel()to decline the request. - Call
select(device)to choose a device listed in the prompt. - Use
waitForDevice(filter, options)to wait for the first device matching a filter.
This is not a JavaScript alert or dialog. Use the DeviceRequestPrompt returned by page.waitForDevicePrompt(), not Dialog.dismiss().

Troubleshooting
The wait never returns the prompt
Move page.waitForDevicePrompt() before the click or other action that triggers the request. It will not capture a prompt that is already active.

Check that the selector identifies the page control that initiates the request and that the action is being performed on the intended page. The prompt wait resolves only when the page makes a device request.

You want to accept a device instead
Do not call cancel() if the automation should proceed with a device. Choose a listed device with select(device), or wait for a matching device with waitForDevice(filter, options).
API version note
The official Puppeteer API reference labels DeviceRequestPrompt as version 25.12.0. Check the DeviceRequestPrompt API reference and the waitForDevicePrompt API reference for the version you use; labels and behavior may change in later releases.
