What happens after you cancel
Cancellation generally stops the next renewal rather than ending access straight away. You can usually keep using the subscription through the period you have already paid for; check the account listing for the end date. This is different from uninstalling the app, which does not cancel the subscription.

Recurring subscription
Cancel before the next renewal to stop future charges. The current paid period generally remains available until it ends.
Prepaid subscription
A prepaid plan has a fixed term and expires automatically. You can cancel an unused prepaid plan, and it may be eligible for a refund request; cancellation alone does not guarantee a refund.

Subscription payment plan
If Google has already charged you for a payment plan, stopping its renewal does not cancel the remaining payments in the current plan. Google’s general guidance says you remain responsible for those installments.
Pausing instead of cancelling
Some subscriptions offer a pause option. Whether it is available and how long a pause lasts depend on the app. Review the choices shown for your subscription before confirming.

Cancellation is not the same as a refund
Google says refunds are unavailable for most Google Play purchases, and eligibility depends on the purchase and how much time has passed. Its general refund guidance says you may be able to request a refund within 48 hours; after that, it directs you to contact the app developer. Review Google Play’s refund policies for the current rules and request process.
Immediate cancellation with a partial refund is a separate, limited option. Google’s guidance describes it only for users in Israel, France, Germany, and New York, with conditions that vary by jurisdiction. Where offered, immediate cancellation ends access right away. Check Google’s partial-refund policy and the terms displayed in your account; do not assume you will receive money back.
