Where can you buy FC Points?
EA identifies several purchase routes. The safest choice is usually the store built into the game or the official store for the platform you play on. EA also describes purchases through the EA app and, in some regions and circumstances, the Companion App. Physical retailer cards are another category EA says can be redeemed for Points.

These routes are not interchangeable in every situation. Compare them by whether EA identifies the channel as official or trusted, whether it supports your platform and region, how the purchase is completed, and which company handles the payment. If a route is unavailable for your account, use another official option rather than trying to bypass a regional or platform limitation through a third party.

Store names, availability, and app instructions can vary by game, platform, and region. Check the current EA instructions for your specific title before buying. A code or bundle intended for a different platform or region may not suit your account; confirm those details with the seller or official store before paying.

How to choose between the routes
If you are already playing on your console or PC, buying through the in-game Store or the platform’s own store keeps the purchase connected to the platform where you play. If you use the EA app, first confirm that the FC Points add-on is available for your game and platform. The Companion App has specific regional availability: PlayStation and Xbox players can purchase through it only in the United States, while PC players can use the feature in all regions. On consoles, the app directs players to the console’s web store.
A retailer card can be useful if you want a physical card or a retailer-issued code, but the category itself does not certify every seller. Before buying a card or code, make sure the retailer is one EA identifies as trusted and confirm that the product matches your game, platform, and region. EA’s public guidance does not establish that a particular marketplace listing, current price, or individual seller is authorized. Do not treat a familiar marketplace name, a product photo, or a large discount as proof.
How to buy through an official channel
In the game
- Launch the FC game and open Ultimate Team.
- Go to the Store and open the FC Points tab.
- Select the bundle you want and review the displayed price and purchase details.
- Complete payment using the prompts for your platform or account.
- Check that the Points appear in-game before making another purchase.
This is the most direct route when the game’s Store is available. Use the payment prompts shown there and make sure you are signed in to the account on which you want the Points. Before confirming, review the bundle and total displayed by the store. If anything about the price or account looks wrong, stop and check the account or payment details before proceeding.
In the EA app
- Open the EA app and sign in to the EA Account associated with your game.
- Search for FC Points.
- Select the relevant add-on, then choose a bundle.
- Review the listing and payment information, then complete the purchase.
- Start or restart the game and check your Points balance.
Only proceed if the add-on is listed for the game and platform you use. Do not follow a seller’s instructions to sign in through a link or to give the seller your EA login. For a legitimate purchase, you use the official app or official store flow yourself; the seller does not need your credentials to add Points.
Through the Companion App
Availability depends on platform and region. EA says PlayStation and Xbox players can make Companion App purchases only in the United States, while PC players can use the feature in all regions. For console users, the app directs them to the console’s web store. If the purchase option is missing, do not try to get around the restriction with a stranger’s account or a seller’s login instructions; use the official store route available for your platform.
With a retailer card
EA says physical retailer cards can be redeemed for FC Points. Follow the instructions supplied with a card you obtained from a retailer you have established is trusted. Before paying, check the card or code’s game, platform, and region details. If a listing does not make those details clear, ask the retailer before buying or choose an official store instead. EA’s recognition of retailer cards does not confirm a particular online listing or guarantee compatibility for every account.

How to check a seller or offer before paying
EA’s safe-use guidance says to buy Points from the Ultimate Team Store, your console’s store, or trusted retailers. That does not mean every site, social-media seller, marketplace listing, or person offering a code is trusted. EA’s recognition of physical retailer cards establishes the product category, not the legitimacy of any specific listing.
- Prefer a store EA names. Start with the in-game store, your platform’s official store, the EA app where available, or a retailer you can establish is trusted.
- Verify the product details. Check that the code or bundle is for FC Points, the right game, your platform, and your region. Do not assume a generic “FC Points code” works everywhere.
- Check who takes payment. Determine whether the checkout is handled by EA, your console or PC platform, or a retailer. This matters if a charge is fraudulent or the purchase does not arrive.
- Be wary of unusually cheap or unofficial offers. EA’s guidance does not verify specific marketplace listings, prices, or individual sellers. A low price or an image of a card is not evidence of authorization.
- Do not hand over account access. No legitimate Points purchase requires you to send a seller your EA password, verification code, or login credentials.
- Check the bundle before confirming. Use the amount and price displayed in the official purchase flow, and make sure you have selected the Points bundle you intended to buy.
EA Play subscribers receive a 10% discount on FC Points bundles according to EA’s purchase information, subject to conditions, limitations, and exclusions. Confirm the current offer and terms through EA before relying on that discount; do not treat a third-party seller’s promise of a similar discount as proof of legitimacy. Do not assume that a promotion applies to every platform, bundle, region, or transaction.
A useful rule is to separate the product question from the seller question. A Points card can be a legitimate product category while a particular listing or seller remains unverified. First decide whether the route is one EA recognizes; then confirm the product details and payment provider. If any essential detail cannot be established before you pay, choose a different channel.
FC Points are not Ultimate Team Coins
Scam offers often blur the difference between Points and Coins, but they are not interchangeable. FC Points are a paid currency available through the supported purchase routes above. EA says Ultimate Team Coins are earned in-game, including by playing matches and selling items at fair prices; they cannot be bought from third parties.
Buying or distributing Coins through a third party can put an account at risk under EA’s rules. EA warns that Coin sellers often ask for login details and may take Coins, items, players, or the account. Sharing account information also violates EA’s rules. EA says using the Transfer Market to buy or distribute Coins can lead to limited or revoked Transfer Market access. These warnings concern Coin transactions and account sharing; they are not a reason to confuse a normal Points purchase through an official channel with a Coin purchase.

Points are optional, not a requirement to play Ultimate Team. EA lists eligible uses that include Ultimate Team Store packs, Draft entries, Evolution slots, Season Pass, stadium customization, and cosmetic items in the Clubs Store. Before buying a bundle, consider which eligible content you intend to use it for and check the in-game terms for that item. You do not need to buy Points simply to play Ultimate Team.
How to recognize and respond to FC Points scams
Phishing is an attempt to obtain account information or passwords. A message can arrive by email, social media, a forum, or console messaging and still be a scam, even if it uses EA’s name or logo. EA says it will never ask for your password, verification codes, or login credentials through those channels.
EA’s guidance is to sign in only on official EA sites and platforms. Instead of following an unexpected link, open the EA or platform app or navigate to its official site yourself. This is especially important if a message says there is a problem with a purchase, promises a reward, or claims that account access is needed to deliver Points.

- A seller asks for your EA password, one-time verification code, or access to your account to “add” Points.
- A message tells you to sign in through a link sent in a chat, email, forum post, or social message rather than navigating to the official EA or platform sign-in page yourself.
- An offer promises Coins from a third party, asks you to use the Transfer Market to move value, or asks you to share account information.
- A seller pressures you to act immediately or asks for payment outside the official store or retailer checkout.
- A code listing does not clearly establish its platform, region, or game compatibility.
- A message uses EA’s name or logo but asks for credentials or verification codes through email, social media, forum messages, or console messaging.
EA says it will never request passwords, verification codes, or login credentials through email, social media, forum messages, or console messaging systems. Treat that kind of request as a scam, even if the sender claims to be support, a moderator, a retailer, or another player.
If you receive a suspicious message
- Do not click its sign-in link, share credentials, or provide a verification code.
- Open EA or your platform’s official site or app directly if you need to check your account.
- If you already disclosed account details, secure the account using EA’s official account-security process and contact EA support about the account.
- If the message involved a purchase you did not authorize, identify which company processed the charge and contact that billing provider.
Do not reply with account information simply because the message appears to know your game, platform, or EA Account details. The safe response is to avoid the supplied link and check your account through the official route. If you have already shared details, focus on securing the account through EA’s official process rather than continuing a conversation with the sender.
Who handles a missing purchase or suspicious charge?
The billing provider depends on where you bought the Points. EA says Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile-game purchases use those platforms’ billing systems. For a fraudulent charge through one of those systems, contact the relevant platform or mobile-store support. EA says it can help with eligible fraudulent charges made on an EA Account and with account security.

This distinction matters: a game purchase may appear in FC, but the charge can be processed by the console or mobile platform. Check your transaction history or payment statement to identify the billing provider before opening a dispute. Contact the company that processed the transaction rather than assuming EA controls every payment made while playing an EA game.

- Check the transaction history for the platform or account you used to confirm whether the purchase completed.
- Restart the game and check the balance again.
- Check the game’s direct communications or service status for a known issue affecting Points delivery.
- If the transaction is confirmed and the Points still have not appeared, contact the appropriate support channel with the transaction details.
Start by verifying the payment instead of buying the bundle a second time. A transaction that does not appear as completed in the relevant history may not have gone through. If the payment is confirmed, restart the game and check for an announced service issue before escalating. Keep the transaction details available so the support team can identify which purchase and account you mean.
If you see an unauthorized charge
- Identify the billing provider shown in the transaction history or payment statement.
- For a charge made through Xbox, PlayStation, Apple, or Google billing, contact that provider’s support.
