#1 Best Overall

How much does Bluehost Malware Protection cost?

On its U.S. product page, Bluehost displays Complete Security at $5.99 per month for a 12-month term, renewing at $19.99 per month. Bluehost’s FAQ describes $5.99 per month as a starting price and notes that prices can change. These are vendor-published U.S. figures, not a guaranteed final amount for every customer. Check the live cart for the term, renewal rate, applicable taxes, and any promotion before paying.

Prices may differ by geography, account, promotion, and term. For example, the UK landing page uses pounds, so the dollar figures above should not be applied to non-U.S. checkout. The product page, FAQ, and plan overview provide Bluehost’s current published details.

What does Complete Security include?

Bluehost lists three named tiers: Malware Scan and Clean, AI Malware Defense, and Complete Security. The plan comparison describes common capabilities across tiers, including malware detection, continuous scanning, unlimited pages scanned, Google blacklist monitoring, automatic malware removal, a security seal, malicious-process killing, a dashboard and reports, and 24/7/365 support.

Complete Security adds protections listed in Bluehost’s comparison such as ThreatShield Smart WAF, AI-powered cloud file scanning, injection-attack remediation, brute-force login protection, WordPress database SQL injection protection and scanning, and human expert comprehensive cleanup for WordPress sites. Feature availability can change, so compare the current plan table before buying. Bluehost marks comprehensive database scanning as “Coming Soon” for AI Malware Defense while listing it for Complete Security; the tiers should not be treated as having identical coverage.

Bluehost’s plan overview gives the feature comparison. It does not provide independent efficacy statistics or comparative test results, so the feature list should not be read as a quantified guarantee that infections or downtime will be prevented.

Is Complete Security the right plan for your site?

Bluehost says the website must be hosted on Bluehost to activate and use its Malware Protection service. The FAQ states this requirement. If your site is hosted elsewhere, this plan is not presented as an option for that site.

Check what your hosting package already includes before adding a paid plan. Bluehost’s current materials say Malware Scan and Clean is included with Starter Hosting, while AI Malware Defense is included with Business Hosting and above. Complete Security is presented as a paid plan. Compare the protections already included with the additional features or remediation you actually need rather than assuming every site needs the highest tier.

One Complete Security plan covers one domain. Bluehost says multiple domains require separate plans; it does not establish that one plan protects multiple sites simply because they share an account. See the domain assignment guide and upgrade instructions.

What does expert cleanup cover?

Bluehost’s October 1, 2026 Malware Protection Awareness article describes manual intervention for qualifying compromised WordPress sites on Complete Security. Its stated scope includes removing malware from files and the file system, and repairing WordPress core integrity with clean core files.

Bluehost instructs customers to let the automated scan and removal process finish before requesting manual support. The published scope does not establish a promise to restore an entire site or clean arbitrary non-WordPress systems.
