Build around a plan, not a pile of individually powerful Batomon: match ability timing and targets, arrange the board so those effects can connect, and keep enough immediate strength to survive while the plan develops. Because the shop is untimed and battles are automatic, use the shop phase to inspect abilities, merges, and formation before selecting Battle.
How team-building works in Batomon Showdown
Batomon Showdown is an asynchronous auto-battler. A run alternates between an untimed shop and automatic battles against saved boards from the same day. You can field up to six Batomon, and the usual goal is 10 wins before you run out of lives. Individual Batomon can be knocked out while their side keeps fighting: each side has one shared battle HP pool. See the [How to play guide].

That shared pool changes how to value a unit. A Batomon does not need to survive the entire battle to contribute: its ability may already have protected the team, enabled an ally, or dealt useful damage. Conversely, strong individual stats do not automatically make a strong team if the units’ abilities do not work together.
Build around timing, targets, and a shared plan
Abilities can trigger at the start of battle, when a unit casts, on an ongoing basis, on a knockout, or on victory. The game’s mechanics guide emphasizes that trigger timing and targeting can matter as much as raw stats. Before adding a unit, ask three questions:
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
- When does it act? Identify its trigger and whether another unit must act first.
- What does it affect? Check whether it targets a particular slot, direction, adjacent Batomon, or another condition.
- What does it enable? Look for an ally or effect that benefits from the trigger, target, or outcome.
A coherent sequence is more useful than a nominally powerful pair whose effects never activate in a compatible way. Treat any synergy as conditional on the units and offers actually available in your run; no single pairing is guaranteed to win.
Arrange the six-slot board for the abilities you have
The board has six slots in a 3×2 layout. Adjacency is orthogonal: slots sharing an edge are adjacent, but diagonal slots are not. Since some abilities care about a slot, direction, or adjacent ally, check the exact wording before fixing the formation. The mechanics reference documents these positioning rules.

- 1000Hz Polling Rate on PC: Experience ultra-responsive gaming with a 1000Hz polling rate on PC, available through both wired and 2.4G wireless connections. This ensures instantaneous input registration, reducing lag and optimizing your performance for the most competitive gameplay.
- GameSir Nexus App: The G7 Pro is compatible with the upgraded GameSir Nexus app, which brings a significant upgrade over the original. It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
- Read each relevant ability’s target wording.
- Place units that need to affect or support one another in eligible positions, using edge-sharing rather than diagonal proximity for adjacency effects.
- Recheck the layout whenever a purchase, merge, or replacement changes who occupies a slot.
- Once the formation and ability sequence make sense, choose Battle; combat resolves automatically, without tactical turn-by-turn input.
Protect the run as losses get more expensive
You begin with 10 lives. A loss costs 1 life on days 1–2, 2 lives on days 3–4, and 3 lives from day 5 onward. The first time your lives reach zero, Second Chance returns you to 1 life and opens a reward event; reaching zero again ends the run. The increasing loss cost makes maintaining a viable board especially important from day 5. These run rules are described in the How to play guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYour side’s battle HP is shared by its Batomon. Shield absorbs incoming damage before it reaches that pool, while Heal restores the pool subject to its battle maximum. So assess defensive and healing effects by what they do for the whole side, not just by the survival of the unit that provides them. See the Team HP rules.

Merge when the payoff fits the board
The standard recipe is three matching level-1 copies to make a level-2 Batomon, then two level-2 copies to make level 3. A merge opens a trinket gift. Reaching level 4 requires special effects rather than an ordinary merge. The recipes and limits are documented in the How to play guide.
Consider a merge in the context of both your current board and the run’s life total: compare the benefit of completing the recipe with the strength you need immediately. The shop has five slots, shop rank changes rarity odds but does not guarantee a particular offer, and a normal reroll costs 3 gold. Those constraints make it sensible to weigh the gold and time spent pursuing a merge against taking an available offer that supports your current plan. The shop and merge rules are in the How to play guide.

What strong teams look like in the latest ranked snapshot
The Batomon.com community meta companion’s Comps page reported these examples from public ranked final teams. It labels the data Balance 24, covers the 30 days before its October 3, 2026 update, and says 4,946 runs were analyzed overall. The figures below are the page’s reported 10-win rates for the listed team samples—not controlled head-to-head results or guarantees. Sample sizes differ, and smaller samples call for particular caution. See Comps.
| Reported composition | 10-win result in the listed sample | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Torrantler + Plunderbird, with a Sirenade core | 63% (29 of 46 terminal runs) | Representative core units were each shown at level 3. |
| Aviarab + Tengusto, with a Gemwing core | 57% (28 of 49 terminal runs) | Community snapshot; sample result, not a guarantee. |
| Panbud + Dryadell, with a Dracana core | 57% (33 of 58 terminal runs) | Community snapshot; sample result, not a guarantee. |
| Ouroblaze + Furnadon, with a Steamscuttle core | 42% (62 of 147 terminal runs) | Community snapshot; sample result, not a guarantee. |
Use these teams as examples of what appeared in that ranked sample, not as recipes to force into every run. When considering one, weigh its reported result against its sample size, whether its core units are available, the levels or merges it asks for, and whether its mechanics fit the offers you have. The snapshot does not establish that these teams were compared under identical conditions.
