How to request a ride from the Uber website

- Enter your destination. Provide the destination address and check it before continuing.
- Choose a ride option. Review the options shown for your location. Availability and names can differ by market, so choose from what the page actually offers.
- Review the estimate and trip details. Check the displayed fare estimate, pickup, destination, and selected ride before you confirm.
- Confirm the request. After booking, use the trip details shown for your ride to identify the arriving vehicle.
How the fare estimate and payment work
Uber shows a fare estimate before you confirm. Its estimate can account for expected trip time and distance, the route, time of day, and demand. Tolls, taxes, surcharges, and other fees may also affect the amount; cancellation or wait-time charges may apply under the terms shown for a trip. Treat the estimate as the quote presented for that booking, not as a promise that every trip will have the same price or charges.

Payment examples on Uber’s guide include cash, credit card, and Uber Cash, but accepted methods depend on the region. Check the booking page and the terms for your trip to see which payment methods and charges apply.
Request an Uber for someone else
Uber’s online guide supports requesting a ride for another person. Enter that rider’s pickup and destination, choose “Order ride for someone else,” then provide the rider’s name and phone number. Check that the contact details are correct so the rider can be associated with the booking.

Where to get the receipt
Uber says an email receipt is sent after the ride. The rider can also sign in to the rider account to access or download a receipt.
Can you schedule an Uber ride in advance?
Uber’s official pages give different advance-booking limits: its general guide says rides can be scheduled up to 30 days ahead, while its Uber Reserve page says booking can be available up to 90 days ahead. These are not a single universal limit. Advance booking depends on the feature and location, so check which dates the booking flow offers for your specific trip.

Check the vehicle before you get in
Before boarding, compare the arriving vehicle’s license plate, make and model, and the driver photo with the details displayed for your ride. Do not rely on a vehicle’s appearance alone to identify your Uber.
