Block cookies in Safari on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps, then Safari.
- Tap Advanced.
- Turn on Block All Cookies.
- Tap Block All to confirm.
Apple says confirming the setting removes existing cookies and website data, quits Safari, and reloads open tabs. A site may refuse a sign-in even when your credentials are correct, report that cookies are required or turned off, or lose features that depend on them. Allow cookies in Safari
Open Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced and turn Block All Cookies off. Some websites use cookies to remember activity and settings, and sites that require cookies may work normally when they are allowed. [Apple iPhone User Guide: Turn cookies on or off]
Choose between blocking all cookies and allowing them
| Setting | What it means | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Block All Cookies on | Safari blocks all cookies. Confirming the change also removes existing cookies and website data. | Some sign-ins and site features may fail; Safari quits and reloads open tabs. [Apple Support] |
| Block All Cookies off | Cookies are not blocked by this all-cookies control. | Websites that require cookies can work normally, though this does not turn off other privacy protections. [Apple iPhone User Guide] |
Understand the other Safari privacy controls
Prevent Cross-Site Tracking
This is a separate setting under Settings > Apps > Safari. Apple says Safari limits third-party cookies and data by default with this control. Turning it off permits cross-site tracking; it is not the way to allow all cookies. [Apple iPhone User Guide: Use Safari extensions and privacy settings]
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Private Browsing
Private Browsing is not the cookie toggle. Apple describes it as a way to open tabs that do not appear in iPhone history or in the tab list on your other Apple devices. [Apple iPhone User Guide]
iCloud Private Relay
Private Relay is an optional iCloud+ feature that routes Safari traffic through two relays to help protect your IP address from websites and network providers. It does not control cookies, and Apple says it is unavailable in some countries or regions. [Apple Support: Set up iCloud Private Relay]

Remove website data without clearing Safari history
To remove stored website data while keeping Safari history, go to Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data > Remove Now. Apple says website data includes information used for tracking and data sites use to save login details for faster browsing. This is different from Clear History and Website Data, which also clears history. [Apple Support: Delete your Safari history, cache, and cookies on iPhone]
Use a content blocker for more selective blocking
Apple supports third-party content-blocking apps that can block cookies and other content, such as images, resources, and pop-ups. To enable an installed option, open Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions. This is an optional, more selective approach; no particular app is endorsed here. [Apple Support: Use Safari extensions]
