You can automate this with an integration, but Zoho Forms is not documented as having a built-in action that captures a screenshot of a submitted website URL. A practical pattern is: Zoho Forms sends the submitted URL by webhook; Zoho Flow or a custom endpoint passes it to a screenshot API; your integration then saves or delivers the returned image. The right design depends on whether the URL is public or authenticated, where the image must go, and what security and data-location requirements apply.
How the integration works
- Add a form field for the website URL. Validate that it is a URL and, if appropriate, restrict submissions to approved domains. These are implementation safeguards, not automatic Zoho Forms features.
- Configure a Zoho Forms outgoing webhook to send the submission to a receiving endpoint. Zoho documents HTTP POST webhooks and lets administrators choose payload fields and content type, configure authorization, and add URL parameters and custom headers. See Zoho Forms webhook documentation.
- Have the receiving workflow extract and validate the URL, then call a screenshot API from server-side logic.
- Handle the screenshot response and save or deliver it to the destination your organization chose: for example, object storage, an internal record, email, or a link.
- Record the outcome and define what happens on errors, retries, or duplicate submissions.
This is an integration pattern assembled from documented capabilities, not a tested recipe or prebuilt Zoho Forms screenshot connector. Zoho Forms can also generate a PDF of a form submission, but that is not a screenshot of a separate website URL; see Zoho Forms PDF templates.

Choose between Zoho Flow and custom Deluge
Use Zoho Flow for low-code orchestration
Zoho Flow can receive a webhook at a generated URL and expose received values to later flow steps. Its webhook trigger documentation describes JSON, form data, and plain-text payload formats. Configure the trigger to match the actual Forms webhook payload, send a sample request, and map the received URL into subsequent steps. See Zoho Flow webhook documentation.
Before choosing Flow, confirm that the steps available in your account can pass the screenshot response as a file or binary object to the destination you need. The documented webhook capability alone does not establish that a particular Flow action can persist arbitrary screenshot bytes.
#1 Best Overall
Use Deluge or another server-side endpoint for custom handling
Deluge’s invokeUrl task can make HTTP requests to third-party APIs. Zoho documents a 40-second socket timeout and service-call limits, so a synchronous render-and-save path must fit within the applicable execution window. For slow pages or a longer workflow, consider queueing the capture and processing an asynchronous result or callback rather than holding the form submission open. That is an architectural option, not a guarantee about a particular Zoho configuration. See Deluge invokeUrl documentation.
Configure the webhook payload carefully
Choose a payload format based on the fields the downstream workflow needs, and inspect a real sample before relying on field mappings. Zoho Forms documents important format differences:
- JSON can carry subform data, but
application/jsonexcludes file attachments. - Form-encoded payloads exclude file attachments and subform data.
- Multipart payloads exclude subform data.
These distinctions matter if the form includes other fields or attachments alongside the target URL. Check Zoho’s current documentation and the actual request received by your endpoint; do not assume a format carries every field. Keep any authentication secret in a secure server-side configuration or secured connection, not in a public form page.

A hosted screenshot API can render a supplied URL without your integration having to launch and manage a browser itself. ScreenshotOne is one documented example: its API accepts HTTPS requests for URL captures and uses API-key authentication. Its documentation describes output formats and response behavior; it is an example provider, not a verified native Zoho connector. Review ScreenshotOne’s API documentation for its current request and response details.
ScreenshotOne documents binary responses by default for format-specific requests. It says screenshots are not stored on its servers by default unless options such as caching or storage are enabled. That provider-specific statement is not a general retention guarantee, nor does it settle the handling of the URL or image by Zoho, your own endpoint, or your chosen destination. Keep API keys server-side and out of public pages and URLs, as its documentation advises.
Decide access, storage, and India-specific requirements
Public versus authenticated URLs
A URL field does not establish that a screenshot service can access the page. For a public URL, test how redirects and page load behavior affect the result. For an internal or authenticated page, determine whether the provider supports the required access method and whether sending credentials or cookies to that provider is acceptable. Do not put sensitive tokens or personal information in a query string unless the full transmission and logging path is approved.
Image destination and retention
Choose whether the image belongs in object storage, a record attachment, email, or another destination before selecting the orchestration path. Define who can access it, how long it is retained, and what happens when a submission is deleted or a capture is retried. Verify binary/file handling end to end; a successful API response does not by itself prove that your Forms or Flow setup can store the returned image.

India OAuth detail is not a data-residency claim
Zoho Forms’ Connections documentation gives the India OAuth callback as https://deluge.zoho.in/delugeauth/callback. That is an OAuth setup detail only; it does not establish India data residency for Zoho or a screenshot vendor. Confirm applicable regional hosting, transfer, and retention terms directly with each service before sending personal or regulated data. See Zoho Forms Connections documentation.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A one-call request can return an image or PDF; use it from a server-side integration after receiving and validating the Forms webhook. For example, a cURL request for a WebP screenshot is:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Replace the example URL with the validated URL from the form, and keep your API key server-side. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and response details.
- Cookie/consent banners are accepted and removed before capture; newsletter popups and chat widgets are removed too. Each step can be turned off.
- Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing; responses indicate the page verdict and billing status.
- An MCP server exposes
take_screenshot,get_page_info, andcapture_pdftools for AI agents and MCP clients. - The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

Test and troubleshoot the workflow
Before enabling the automation for real submissions, test the complete path with representative URLs and confirm both the image and its destination. Do not assume a successful webhook means a successful capture or save.
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The workflow receives no URL or maps the wrong value | The webhook field selection, payload format, or Flow mapping does not match the actual request. | Inspect a sample request, confirm the selected Forms field and content type, and remap the URL using the received payload. |
| A field or attachment is missing | The selected payload format may exclude attachments or subform data. | Check the documented format differences and inspect the actual payload; choose a compatible format if the downstream workflow requires those values. |
| The API returns an error or no usable image | The URL may be invalid, inaccessible, redirected, blocked, or too slow; the API key or request may also be incorrect. | Test the same URL and credentials directly against the provider’s current API documentation, then check the returned status and response body. |
| The Deluge call times out | Rendering plus downstream work may exceed Deluge’s documented 40-second socket timeout. | Reduce synchronous work or move capture and delivery to an asynchronous or queued design; account for applicable service-call limits. |
| The screenshot is returned but not saved | The receiving step may not handle binary data as a file, or the destination may reject the file. | Verify response handling, file type and size constraints, destination permissions, and the complete save path independently of the capture request. |
| Duplicate images or repeated notifications appear | Webhook retries or workflow retries may repeat a capture. | Use a stable submission identifier to detect already-processed work, and define whether a retry should replace, preserve, or relink the existing image. |
What to verify before launch
- URL validation, allowed domains, redirects, and treatment of query strings.
- Whether the page is public or requires authentication, and whether the provider can reach it safely.
- Payload format and field mapping using actual webhook samples.
- Binary response handling and the selected storage or delivery destination.
- Timeouts, service quotas, retries, duplicate submissions, and failure logging.
- Credential storage, access controls, retention, and applicable India data-location requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Zoho Forms take a screenshot of a submitted URL by itself?
The documented capabilities support assembling the workflow with a webhook and an external rendering step; they do not establish a native one-click website screenshot action in Forms.
Does Zoho’s generated submission PDF capture the linked website?
No. The documented PDF feature generates a PDF of the form submission, not a screenshot of a separate website URL.
