Apply through SBI Card’s official application flow, then—if approved and Google Pay card registration is available to your account—add the card in the app and verify it with an OTP sent to your SBI Card-registered mobile number. Applying does not guarantee approval, and SBI Card says Google Pay access is currently limited to some users.
How to apply for the Google Pay Flex SBI Card
Start from the Google Pay Flex SBI Card listing on SBI Card’s official website and continue through its application flow. The online application asks for personal and financial details; enter them only on the official SBI Card page.

Information the application requests
- Name as it appears on your PAN
- Mobile number and PAN
- Occupation and annual income
- Email address and city
If your city is not listed, SBI Card’s application page directs you to visit the nearest SBI branch. SBI Card assesses applications using multiple parameters, so submitting the form is not a promise of approval.
Check the fee and current offer terms
SBI Card’s published MITC lists a ₹499 annual fee, waived when annual spending reaches ₹1 lakh or more in the preceding year. Check the live MITC before applying, since fees and conditions can change.
SBI Card’s homepage has advertised a welcome gift worth ₹1,000 on Google Pay and earnings of up to 18,000 Stars in a year. These are headline claims, not guaranteed benefits: the available summary does not establish all eligibility rules, timing, or current availability. Read the current offer terms before relying on them.
How to add the approved card to Google Pay
- Open Google Pay and go to your profile.
- Select the option to add a debit or credit card.
- Enter the requested card details, including the card number, expiry date, and CVV.
- Accept the terms shown in the app.
- Complete OTP authentication. SBI Card says the OTP is sent to the mobile number registered with SBI Card.
Follow the current prompts in Google Pay and SBI Card’s official instructions; app screens may change. Never share your card number, CVV, or OTP with another person, or send screenshots that reveal them. Tokenisation replaces sensitive card details with a token for payments, but it does not make it safe to disclose an OTP.
Where you can use the card through Google Pay
- Tap & Pay at NFC-enabled payment terminals
- Bharat QR payments
- Supported online or in-app payments
Availability is not universal: SBI Card says the feature is currently available only to limited Google Pay users. An otherwise approved card may therefore not be addable for every cardholder. If registration is unavailable or fails, check the latest instructions in the official apps and contact SBI Card or Google Pay through their official support channels.
If you cannot see or add your SBI credit card
- Google Pay does not show the card option: Card registration may not yet be available to your account, since SBI Card describes access as limited.
- OTP does not arrive: Check that you can receive messages on the mobile number registered with SBI Card, then follow the app’s retry or support instructions.
- The app rejects card setup: Recheck the details privately in the official app, follow its current prompts, and contact official support if the issue persists. Do not send card credentials or OTPs to anyone offering help.
SBI Card’s FAQ states Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher as a device requirement. Because device and app requirements can change, check current Google Pay requirements as well.
