The Nothing Phone (4a) comes with a screen protector already applied, according to Nothing’s box-contents list. If you are replacing it, remove the old protector first. For a clean installation, remove dust, align the new protector before it touches the display, then press gently from the center outward.
Check whether the phone already has a protector
Nothing lists a “Screen protector (pre-applied)” among the Phone (4a)’s box contents. Do not apply a second protector over it: general installation guidance calls for removing any existing protector before fitting a new one. Nothing’s listing does not specify how long the original film is intended to be used.

If you are buying a replacement, make sure its product listing explicitly names the standard Nothing Phone (4a). A similar model name is not enough to establish compatibility. The available sources do not verify the dimensions or case fit of any particular protector, so check the listing and the kit’s instructions.
Prepare the phone and work area
- Choose a clean, stable surface and wash and dry your hands.
- Remove the case if the protector maker’s directions require it. Case advice can differ between kits, especially those with an alignment frame.
- Gather the kit’s screen wipe, microfiber cloth and dust-removal sticker, if included.
Install the protector step by step
- Remove the old protector. Lift and remove the installed protector before applying its replacement.
- Clean and dry the display. Use the screen wipe and microfiber cloth supplied with your kit, then allow the glass to dry fully.
- Remove remaining dust. Inspect the screen and lift any particles with the dust sticker. Avoid touching the adhesive side of the new protector.
- Check orientation and alignment. Before removing the backing, identify the top and bottom and line up the edges and cutouts. If the kit includes an alignment tray, use it exactly as its manufacturer directs.
- Lower the protector carefully. Hold it by the edges and bring it down only after you are satisfied with its position.
- Press from the center outward. Apply gentle pressure down the center, then work toward the edges to encourage air to move out.
These cleaning and placement steps follow general guidance from Videotron and Spigen. Follow the instructions for the exact protector you have if they differ.

What to do if bubbles remain
Movable bubbles
Use a microfiber cloth and light pressure to guide movable bubbles toward the nearest edge. Avoid pressing hard; Spigen advises against excessive force.
Small bubbles that do not move
Videotron says some remaining bubbles may disappear over 24–48 hours. This is general installation guidance, not a Nothing Phone (4a)-specific guarantee.

A fixed bubble that persists
Dust may be trapped beneath a bubble that stays in place. The cited guidance does not give a Phone (4a)-specific correction procedure, so consult the protector maker before lifting an edge. Avoid repeatedly peeling the protector off to chase a bubble: Spigen cautions that removal and reinstallation can damage adhesive properties.

An alignment frame can help position a protector, but the available guidance does not include comparative testing showing that framed kits prevent bubbles better than manual placement. Compare the practical details of the specific kit instead:
