Schedule the stream first, then share its watch-page link with subscribers and on your channel’s existing promotion surfaces at least 48 hours before launch. Ask viewers to select Notify me on the scheduled stream page. YouTube says the upcoming stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds, but it does not guarantee that every subscriber will see it or receive a notification.
1. Schedule the stream and prepare its watch page
Create the scheduled YouTube live event before you announce it. The watch page gives subscribers one destination to visit, share, and use to set a reminder. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear as an upcoming event in subscribers’ feeds; viewers can choose Notify me on the page to get a reminder when it is about to begin. Neither feed visibility nor a reminder is a guarantee that every subscriber will see an alert.

Make the event details useful to someone who has not heard about the new format. State what the 24/7 stream will contain, when it starts, and whether it replaces or supplements existing programming. Those details are practical announcement advice, not a YouTube requirement.

YouTube recommends sharing the live-stream link at least 48 hours before going live. Put the direct watch-page URL in your announcement rather than asking subscribers to search for the channel or find the stream later. YouTube’s promotion guidance does not establish a reach or view-rate guarantee for that lead time.

Keep the message specific: name the content, give the start time with a time zone, explain whether the stream is continuous, and invite viewers to open the page and select Notify me. If the stream is already running when someone sees the message, say that plainly instead of describing it as an upcoming launch.
3. Put the watch-page link where your subscribers already look
Use surfaces that your channel already maintains and that can carry the direct link. YouTube recommends linking social accounts for easier sharing, embedding the stream URL on a website, and using the channel’s Live section to display upcoming and live events. Its guidance also says subscribers may receive a notification of public events in their homepage feed and may find the stream in What to Watch Next; those are possible discovery surfaces, not assured delivery.

- Linked social accounts: Post the watch-page URL with the same launch details and reminder invitation.
- Website: Embed or link to the event page if your site is a place your audience already visits.
YouTube does not rank these surfaces by effectiveness. Prefer the ones your existing audience actually uses, and keep the message and link consistent across them.

4. Use a teaser only if the new format needs explaining
A short teaser can explain what viewers will find in a continuous stream and how it differs from your usual uploads or live events. YouTube also allows eligible creators to add a trailer that plays on a scheduled stream’s watch page before the event. According to YouTube Help, the trailer feature is available to channels with more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; the trailer video must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long. These are eligibility and length limits for the trailer feature, not requirements for announcing or scheduling a standard stream.

5. Treat Premieres and Live Redirect as optional launch formats
Premiere
A Premiere may suit a one-time launch video or a special introduction to the new stream because it has a shareable watch page and scheduled anticipation. YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead so viewers have an opportunity to see its thumbnail in the subscriptions feed. That recommendation is about Premieres; it is not a separate rule for scheduling a 24/7 livestream.
Live Redirect
If you already have a live event ending as the new stream begins, Live Redirect can send viewers from the ending stream to a Premiere or another live stream. YouTube says creators sending redirects need more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Sending viewers to another channel also requires that channel’s permission. This is an optional handoff, not a substitute for sharing the scheduled stream’s link in advance.

6. Keep the announcement realistic about notifications
Scheduling, sharing, and asking viewers to select Notify me make the event easier to find and give interested viewers a way to request a reminder. They do not ensure that every subscriber receives an alert or sees the event in a feed. YouTube’s own language is conditional: a scheduled stream may appear in the subscribers’ feed, and subscribers may receive a homepage-feed notification for a public event.
