To change Vivaldi’s blocking for every website, open Vivaldi menu > Settings > Ad and Tracker Blocker > Default Blocking Level and choose a level. To change it for just the open site, tap the Content Blocker shield at the left of the Address Bar.
Choose a default blocking level for all websites
- Tap the Vivaldi menu on the Address Bar.
- Tap Settings.
- Open Ad and Tracker Blocker > Default Blocking Level.
- Choose No Blocking, Block Trackers, or Block Trackers and Ads.
Vivaldi describes tracker blocking as stopping requests to known tracker URLs before they are sent. Ad blocking adds another layer to catch ads that the tracker blocker did not already block. The settings are built into Vivaldi for iOS; the available instructions do not specify a minimum app version.

Change blocking for one website
- Open the website in the active tab.
- Tap the Content Blocker shield at the left of the Address Bar.
- Choose No Blocking, Block Trackers, or Block Trackers and Ads for that site.
On an iPad in landscape orientation, toolbar icons move to the Address Bar, so the control may appear in a different position than on a portrait iPhone.
What each setting does

Vivaldi recommends blocking trackers on all sites and enabling ad blocking selectively where ads are intrusive or distracting. It also notes that advertising can be a major or sole revenue source for many websites. Which level is right depends on your privacy preferences, whether a site works properly, and whether you want to support ad-funded publishers.

Set or remove a per-site exception
Use exceptions to give a particular domain a different blocking level from your default.
- Open Vivaldi menu > Settings > Ad and Tracker Blocker > Exceptions > Manage blocking level per site.
- To add an exception, tap Add New Domain, enter the website, choose a blocking level, then tap Add New Domain again.
- To change one, tap the existing exception, choose a level, and tap Update.
- To remove one, tap the exception and select Remove.
Manage blocking sources and cookie-warning lists
Blocking sources are rule lists that Vivaldi can use when filtering content.

- Go to Vivaldi menu > Settings > Ad and Tracker Blocker > Sources.
- Tick a source to enable it or untick it to stop using it.
- To add a source, tap Add New Source, enter the URL of its blocker rules, and tap Import.
To enable Vivaldi’s cookie-warning lists, set blocking to Block Trackers and Ads, then open Sources > Manage Ad Blocking Sources. Enable Remove cookie warnings (Easylist Cookie List) and Remove cookie warnings (I don’t care about cookies). Vivaldi says these lists hide warnings on most websites, not every site. If you want to hide cookie warnings without blocking ads, disable the other blocking sources.

A page may rely on an element that the tracker or ad blocker blocks. Lower the blocking level for that site with the Content Blocker shield, or choose No Blocking as a quick test.

- After changing the site’s blocking level, reload the page.
- If the issue persists, close Vivaldi from the iOS app switcher and reopen it.
Some changes may require a reload or an app restart. If the page works with blocking lowered, keep a less restrictive per-site setting for that domain rather than changing your default for every website.

The documentation does not identify an app version or publication date, so a different installed version may show a changed interface. Check the current labels in your app’s Settings; on iPad, also account for the toolbar moving to the Address Bar in landscape orientation.
