To add Calculator to Control Center, open Control Center, tap the Add button to enter editing, tap Add a Control at the bottom, and then tap Calculator in the gallery. It then appears as a control you can open in one tap, without searching the Home Screen or App Library.
Steps to add Calculator
- Open Control Center. On an iPhone with Face ID, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen. On an iPhone with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom edge.
- Enter editing mode. Tap the Add button in Control Center. The button is labelled with a plus sign.
- Open the gallery. Tap Add a Control at the bottom of the screen. Apple’s iPhone user guide describes this gallery as the place where controls are added.
- Choose Calculator. Find Calculator in the gallery and tap it. If it is listed, tapping it adds it to Control Center.
- Close Control Center. Finish by leaving the editing view. The new control is available the next time you open Control Center.
Opening Control Center on your model
The only step that varies by hardware is the first one. Models with Face ID use the top-right corner swipe down, and models with a Home button use the bottom-edge swipe up. If the gesture does not respond, check which of these two designs your iPhone has before trying again.

Arranging and removing controls after you add it
Apple’s iPhone user guide (Use and customize Control Center on iPhone) says you can rearrange, add, and remove controls in Control Center. To move Calculator, enter editing mode and drag its tile to a new position. To remove it, use the remove control in the same editing view. Controls can also be resized, which lets you change how much space the tile takes up.

Apple’s guide documents the gallery workflow, but its text does not list every available control, and it does not offer a Calculator-specific troubleshooting path. If you cannot find Calculator in the gallery, scroll through the full list before assuming it is missing. You can still open Calculator directly from the Home Screen or by searching for it in App Library, and you can check Apple’s support pages for the latest guidance on your model.

Software version
Expanded Control Center customization is associated with iOS 18, according to Apple’s About iOS 18 Updates page. Apple’s sources do not state a minimum iOS version specifically for the Calculator control, so check the version installed on your device under Settings > General > About (or Settings > General > Software Update) if the gallery looks different from these steps.
Calculator is a built-in app, and this setup requires no accessory or additional purchase.
