Start by choosing the right points system for your platform: Twitch Channel Points are native to Twitch and available to monetized streamers, while chatbot loyalty points are a separate currency managed by a service such as StreamElements. Add games and giveaways through optional chatbot modules, and verify the current poll feature for your platform before configuring it—prediction contests that stake points are not ordinary polls.
Choose between native points and chatbot loyalty points
Twitch Channel Points
Twitch Channel Points are available to monetized streamers. Viewers accrue them automatically while logged in and watching, and the points belong to that channel. Streamers can configure built-in rewards or create custom ones. Twitch describes Channel Points as a customizable way to reward community members with perks. See Twitch’s Channel Points guide for current eligibility and setup details.

StreamElements Loyalty
StreamElements Loyalty is a separate chatbot points system, not a way to add points to Twitch’s native balance. Its guide directs creators to log in, open Loyalty settings, and enable the system; creators can configure earning rates and rewards. Viewers may earn points through activities such as watching, subscribing, and tipping. Check the StreamElements Loyalty guide for current dashboard steps.

Streamlabs’ Cloudbot guide covers loyalty points and chat games and describes linking Twitch, YouTube, or Kick. That is a reason to investigate it if you stream across platforms, not proof that every module works identically on each one. Check Cloudbot’s current dashboard and documentation for the platform and features you plan to use. The guide was published May 19, 2026, and states it was updated July 7, 2026. Set up points and rewards that viewers can understand
- Pick one balance to start. For a Twitch channel, decide whether native Channel Points cover your needs or whether a separate chatbot currency is useful for games, commands, or a loyalty store. Explain clearly that separate currencies do not transfer into Twitch Channel Points.
- Enable the selected system. For StreamElements, log in, open Loyalty settings, and enable Loyalty. For Twitch Channel Points, use Twitch’s Channel Points controls and configure built-in or custom rewards. Dashboard labels can change, so follow the service’s current guide if the interface differs.
- Set an earning pace and reward costs. Choose rates and costs that make rewards attainable over a reasonable period. Make the earning and redemption rules visible to viewers; do not assume one service’s defaults or balance can be applied to another.
- Define redemption and moderation responsibilities. State what happens when someone redeems a reward, who fulfills it, and how moderators should handle disputes, spam, or inappropriate requests. Keep the reward list short enough to manage reliably.
Add chat games and queues selectively
StreamElements offers optional chatbot modules including emote bingo, duels, 8ball, emote combos, roulette, slot machine, viewer queues, and vote kick. Enable only the modules that suit your chat and check their platform availability in the current documentation; not every module is established as available on every platform. The documented wagering-style games use service loyalty points, not real-money stakes. Review StreamElements’ chatbot modules before enabling a specific game.
- Tell viewers the commands and rules before a game begins.
- Decide whether moderators can pause or end a game if chat becomes disruptive.
- For queues, explain how viewers join, leave, and are selected.
- Keep point-based games distinct from real-money gambling; the documented games use loyalty points.
Run a point-based giveaway with StreamElements
The documented StreamElements giveaway workflow is for Twitch. It lets viewers buy entries with loyalty points or enter through the public giveaway page; each ticket has an equal chance. The prize, entry rules, and fulfillment remain the streamer’s responsibility. See the StreamElements giveaway documentation for current controls.

Do not configure a point-staking contest as though it were an ordinary poll. StreamElements documents contests in which viewers stake loyalty points on two or more options and the streamer selects the winning outcome; losing stakes fund winners. That mechanic is a prediction contest, not non-wagering voting. See the StreamElements contest documentation.

For a conventional poll, first verify the current native poll feature for your streaming platform or the poll module supported by your chosen chatbot. The platform-specific setup steps and current button names are not established here, so use the provider’s up-to-date poll instructions rather than assuming a contest workflow applies.
Choose a setup based on what you need to run
| Option | Points and eligibility | Useful for | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twitch Channel Points | Native, channel-specific points; available to monetized streamers. | Built-in or custom channel rewards without a separate chatbot balance. | Current Twitch eligibility and reward controls. |
| StreamElements Loyalty and modules | Separate loyalty balance with configurable earning and rewards; module availability varies by platform. | Chat games, loyalty rewards, and documented Twitch point-based giveaways or contests. | Platform availability for each module; distinguish giveaways and contests from ordinary polls. |
| Streamlabs Cloudbot | Guide describes linking Twitch, YouTube, or Kick and covers loyalty and games; feature-by-feature platform support is not established here. | An alternative to investigate for loyalty points and chat games. | Current platform-specific module support in the dashboard and documentation. |
Choose according to whether you need native Twitch rewards, a separate loyalty store or games, a point-based giveaway, or a conventional poll. Also account for the moderation time needed to oversee games and fulfill redemptions or prizes.
