Adding the code only verifies the site; Google still decides whether to approve it for ads.
Before you start
- A Google account and access to AdSense.
- Access to the AI Builder project and permission to publish changes.
- The domain you want to submit. AdSense screens and requested account details can vary; follow the instructions shown in your account.
If you are new to AdSense, sign in or register, add your site from the AdSense Sites section, select the appropriate payment country or territory, and complete the account terms as prompted. Copy the verification snippet AdSense generates. It is specific to your account, so do not substitute a sample code or someone else’s publisher ID. Google’s AdSense signup guide explains the account setup flow.
Place the AdSense verification code with an AI Builder prompt
Agentic integrations are prompt-driven: tell the builder both what code to add and where it belongs. Paste the exact snippet copied from your AdSense account, and ask for it to be placed between the opening <head> and closing </head> tags on every relevant page. For example:
Add this AdSense verification code between the <head> and </head> tags on every page of my site: [paste your AdSense code here]
Replace the bracketed instruction with the actual code from AdSense; do not publish the example text as code. Check the builder’s proposed change to confirm the snippet is in the page head, not in visible page content.
Publish the change and verify the site
- Publish the updated website from the AI Builder project.
- Return to AdSense and continue the verification flow shown for your site. If Google does not detect the snippet immediately, allow time and follow any troubleshooting or retry instructions in your account.
- After ownership verification, submit the site for review from AdSense when prompted.
Verification, review, and approval are separate stages: publishing the integration does not itself activate ads. Google reviews the site against its AdSense Program policies. Google’s program policies describe the standards publishers must meet.
Should you add an ads.txt file?
Google describes ads.txt as optional but highly recommended. If AdSense asks you to use it, copy the line it provides, confirm that the publisher ID is yours, and publish a plain-text file named ads.txt at your domain’s root. It should be reachable at an address such as https://your-domain.example/ads.txt.
Google’s example line is google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0. The zero-filled publisher ID is illustrative only: use the exact line and real ID shown in your AdSense account. Google’s ads.txt guide explains the file and its format.
What happens after you request review?
Google says a review usually takes a few days, though it can take 2–4 weeks; this is an estimate, not a service-level guarantee. The site must meet policy requirements, and Google recommends interesting, original content that attracts visitors. As Google puts it, “To succeed with AdSense, check that your site has interesting and original content that draws visitors to your ads.” Google’s review guidance covers timing and the evaluation process.

Complete payment details and any identity verification requested in your account. Google’s signup guidance says that starting June 2026, identity verification may be required before an account can show ads and receive payments. Once setup and approval are complete, you can manage ad settings, including Auto ads, in AdSense; enabling them does not guarantee approval or earnings. Google’s signup guidance lists account requirements.
If AdSense cannot verify the site
- Confirm the published version contains the code. Check that the exact snippet from your AdSense account is in the page head, then publish the project again if you made a correction.
- Check the domain and account. Make sure the site added in AdSense is the one you published and that you are using the snippet from the same AdSense account.
- Follow the method AdSense displays. AdSense may offer a code snippet, ads.txt, or a meta tag. Use the verification option shown in your account and ensure the builder can place or publish that item in the required location.
- Allow for detection time. Google may not detect a newly published change immediately; retry using the account’s verification flow rather than assuming a delay means rejection.
The exact verification options and prompts may differ by account.
