To add a weather display to a website, choose a provider that covers your location, configure the forecast and appearance, then paste its generated embed code into a compatible site editor or HTML area. The phrase “Dropdown V03” does not identify a verifiable product in the available information, so this guide covers the general process rather than attributing features to a specific menu.
What a free weather widget can do
Website weather displays can show current conditions, a forecast, or both. Depending on the provider, you may be able to set a fixed location or let visitors see weather based on their location. Available settings can include forecast duration, temperature units, language, displayed weather details, dimensions, layout, and colors. These options are provider-specific, not guaranteed features of every widget.

Geographic coverage matters: MetService describes its free widget as showing a forecast for one selected New Zealand town or city, while other providers describe broader city selection. Check that the provider supports the place your visitors need before embedding it.

How to choose a widget
Compare the provider’s available settings and terms before you copy code. The pages below describe different implementations; they do not establish independent widget performance or forecast accuracy.

- Coverage and location: Does it support your region, and can you use a fixed location or visitor-location mode?
- Forecast and display: Check whether it offers current conditions, forecast days, units, language, and the weather fields you want.
- Appearance: Look for the layout, size, and styling controls needed to fit your page.
- Embedding: Determine whether it provides an iframe or requires an HTML element and script, and confirm your site platform permits that method.
- Terms and requirements: Check current attribution rules, usage limits, account or API-key requirements, and any platform restrictions. “Free” does not establish that every feature is free or that terms will remain unchanged.
How to add the widget
- Choose a provider. Review its coverage, settings, embed method, and current terms.
- Configure the display. Select the location, forecast options, units, language, weather details, and styling that the provider makes available.
- Copy the generated code. Depending on the provider, this may be iframe code or an HTML element used with a script.
- Add it to your site. Paste the code into a compatible HTML or embed area in your site editor. The exact editor path varies by platform; not every platform accepts every kind of embed.
- Preview the page. Check the widget on the published or preview page to make sure it displays as expected and follows the provider’s terms.
