Minecraft’s official support information does not confirm a current in-game button path for accepting a pending friend request on Android or iPhone. Sign in with the Microsoft account tied to your player profile, then check the in-game prompt or Minecraft’s linked Add Friends to Your Friend List in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition help page for the current controls. Don’t use the Realm invitation steps as a substitute: accepting a Realm invite is a different action.
What to do with a pending friend request

Open Minecraft and sign in to the Microsoft account used for your player profile. On mobile, the sign-in sequence is to select Sign In, select Sign In again in the new window, enter or choose the Microsoft account, and select Let’s Go. Minecraft says Microsoft sign-in is needed to enable crossplay. See Minecraft’s cross-platform play instructions.

From the title screen, select Play, then Friends. This is the documented Bedrock friend-list context, but Minecraft’s support guidance describes it for viewing friends and joinable worlds—not for accepting a pending request. The accessible official instructions do not establish the current mobile accept-request button or menu.

For the request itself, follow the prompt shown in your app or consult Minecraft’s linked Add Friends to Your Friend List in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition support page. Avoid assuming that a bell, Inbox, or Accept control used elsewhere applies to friend requests.

Friend requests and Realm invites are different
A friend request concerns adding a player to your Minecraft friend list. A Realm invitation gives you access to a particular Realm. Minecraft documents the latter with a specific Inbox flow: select the bell next to Profile, open Invites, and select Accept. Those steps apply to Realm invitations, not to an incoming friend request. Details are in Minecraft’s Realm invitation help.
If your goal is to join a friend’s online world after you are friends in Minecraft, select Play > Friends and choose that player’s gamertag under Joinable Friends. Minecraft says both players must already be Minecraft friends to join each other directly. This is a join-world route, not a way to accept a request; see Minecraft’s multiplayer instructions.

If the request or friend list is missing

Verify the account. Check that Minecraft is signed in to the Microsoft account associated with the intended player profile. A different account can mean you are looking at the wrong friend list.

Check child-account permissions. A parent or family organizer may need to allow multiplayer and Add friends and follow others in Microsoft/Xbox privacy or family settings. Restart Minecraft after changing permissions. Minecraft explains these controls in its parental controls guidance.

Update both copies of Minecraft. Different game versions are among the causes Minecraft lists for online multiplayer connection problems. Version mismatch may affect joining even when a friend is already listed. See Minecraft’s multiplayer troubleshooting steps.
A console online subscription is not a mobile requirement; Minecraft identifies those subscriptions as console-only in its online-play and troubleshooting guidance.
