The right Samsung tablet can make it easier to study, read, plan, take notes, or practise a creative skill by bringing the tools for those activities into one workspace. It cannot create the habit or guarantee progress: its value depends on whether it fits a task you already want to do and makes that task easier to start and repeat.
Choose a tablet for the routine you want to support
Self-improvement is a broad goal; a useful device choice starts with a specific recurring activity. Think about what you will do most often, where you will do it, and whether you prefer handwriting, typing, or both. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12 series, announced on September 30, 2026, comprises the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Samsung says both have been available since October 7, 2026. Samsung says the S Pen is included with the S12 series and supports note-taking, highlighting, and sketching. Samsung Notes can capture ideas and lecture takeaways, while Note Assist can summarize notes. These are ways to collect and revisit material—not guarantees of learning, understanding, or retention.

A simple study workflow
- Open the reading, lecture material, or other study reference you need.
- Use the S Pen to highlight passages or write down key points as you work.
- Save your notes in Samsung Notes so you can return to them later.
- If useful, try Note Assist’s note-summary feature as another way to review what you captured.
For a study routine, keep the process simple enough to repeat. A tablet can reduce the need to switch between paper, a reading device, and a separate note-taking tool, but the study session still depends on your attention and follow-through.
Build a planning or reading habit around a repeatable setup
A tablet can serve as a place to keep weekly priorities, reading material, and handwritten annotations together. For example, you might use a notes app to write down the week’s priorities, then review that list at a regular time. This is a practical routine idea, not a tested outcome or a Samsung-verified productivity result.

If reading is your main goal, consider whether you will genuinely annotate as you read. The S Pen’s highlighting and note-taking functions can support that approach; if you mostly want a lightweight device for casual reading, the larger Ultra format may offer more workspace than you need.
Use side-by-side apps or DeX when a task needs several windows
Samsung says the S12 series can show up to three apps side by side and supports DeX, a desktop-like experience with resizable windows. Those features can keep a reference, notes, and a checklist visible together. Samsung’s productivity overview describes these capabilities; it does not establish a measured productivity improvement.

Example: keep a focused task in view
- Open the reference material you need for the task.
- Place your notes in a second window and a checklist or task in a third, if that arrangement helps.
- Use DeX when a resizable-window layout suits your workspace better than a tablet-style view.
A keyboard cover may be useful if this work involves substantial typing, but it is optional. Verify compatibility and current bundle terms for the exact tablet and offer you are considering.
Make creative practice accessible without making it complicated
Samsung says the S Pen supports sketching and that Photoshop Mobile is preloaded on the S12 series. Those tools can give you a place to draw or explore image editing, but professional software is not a requirement for creative growth. A recurring, manageable practice—such as sketching an idea or trying one editing technique—matters more than choosing the most elaborate setup.

Samsung’s announcement also identifies Notability as preloaded with a six-month trial and a 20% discount on the first subscription. Promotions can change, so check Samsung’s current terms and availability before relying on either offer.

The S12 series offers tools for capturing notes, reviewing material, arranging apps, and practising creative work. Those features can lower friction when they fit an activity you have chosen. The cited Samsung product materials do not establish that owning a tablet causes self-improvement or produces better habits, learning, or productivity.
