What a Super Chat does on an unattended stream
A Super Chat is a paid message highlighted in a live chat. A Super Sticker is a separate paid animated image. YouTube says Supers appear as colored messages or animated images, and a buyer’s profile picture may remain at the top of chat for a period based on the purchase amount. These features are for live streams and Premieres, subject to eligibility and availability. YouTube’s published eligibility restrictions do not list the absence of a host on camera as a disqualifier. So an unattended format is not, by itself, an identified barrier to purchases—but that is an inference from YouTube’s documented rules, not a specific guarantee for every 24/7 setup. A purchase does not obligate anyone to read or answer the message. YouTube describes thanking buyers or hearting a Super as ways creators may interact, not as an included service.

When viewers can buy Supers
Both the channel and the individual video must meet YouTube’s applicable fan-funding requirements and policies, and the feature must be available in the relevant location. Check the channel’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio and consult YouTube’s current location and eligibility information; availability can change.

Even when a channel is eligible, Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on an individual video if it is age-restricted, unlisted, private, marked Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser. They are also unavailable if Live Chat or comments are turned off. Viewers may therefore see no purchase option on a particular stream even if Supers are available elsewhere on the channel.
Revenue, moderation, and viewer expectations
YouTube says creators receive 70% of confirmed Supers revenue after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted; YouTube currently covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. This is YouTube’s stated revenue calculation, not a promise of a particular take-home amount. YouTube also says Supers are not crowdfunding or donation tools. Supers remain subject to Community Guidelines and can be moderated like other Live Chat messages. YouTube says that if a Super Chat or Super Sticker is moderated and removed for a policy violation, YouTube donates its portion of the revenue to charity. Deleting a Super Chat after the stream ends does not result in a refund. YouTube’s live chat moderation guide describes tools such as holding potentially inappropriate messages and slow mode. YouTube may also turn Live Chat off if stream content or chat violates its Community Guidelines.
For an unattended stream, decide in advance who or what will monitor chat, and do not imply that every paid message will be read or answered. A clear stream description can set expectations that chat may be unattended and that purchases do not guarantee a response.

What a 24/7 schedule means for archives
The 12-hour issue concerns replay, not a stated cutoff for live Super Chat purchases. YouTube says a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. For a continuous broadcast, do not assume the full video or its chat replay will be available afterward. YouTube recommends keeping a local recording as a backup. When a stream ends and an archive is available, its live-chat replay can show chat alongside the video as it appeared live. If a long continuous stream is not captured, viewers should not expect a complete replay or chat record. YouTube’s live-stream information covers chat and replay basics.

If you use a pre-recorded loop rather than a live camera, the video still has to meet YouTube’s stream, chat, and Supers requirements. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend monitoring stream quality, and its guidance on avoiding live-stream restrictions covers restrictions that can affect streaming and Live Chat.
