The €15,000 figure comes from Clockify’s customer story about Spainlink Development Solutions S.L., a Spain-based IT consulting and custom software firm. It is an estimate from Spainlink’s CEO and software engineer, Jeff Frade, who says Clockify has saved the company “roughly €1,300 a month, or over €15,000 a year” in coordination and administrative time. That monthly figure multiplied by twelve gives €15,600, which is consistent with the “over €15,000” wording. The story is published by Clockify, and the estimate has not been independently audited, so it is best read as one customer’s reported experience rather than a guaranteed result.
Which company the €15,000 figure belongs to
Clockify publishes more than one IT consultancy story, and they are easy to confuse. The savings claim belongs to Spainlink. As the story describes it, Spainlink was founded in 2024, is based in Spain, serves primarily US clients with custom software development and technology consulting, and had 22 members at the time the story was written.

What the savings figure measures, and what it does not
Frade’s estimate is about avoided administrative work. In his words, the savings come from “the coordination and administrative time we’d otherwise spend chasing project status and assembling client reports by hand.” It is not presented as added revenue or profit.

The story does not establish several things a reader would need before relying on the number:
- A baseline, meaning how many hours were spent on status chasing and manual report assembly before Clockify was adopted.
- A measurement period, or how the monthly estimate was derived.
- Any independent validation, calculation method, or review of the estimate.
- A publication date. The customer story is undated, so its figures should be treated as a snapshot of what the company reported at the time.
The story also gives no basis for predicting what another firm would save. Savings depend on how many projects a team runs, how often clients ask for breakdowns, and how much manual reporting existed beforehand.

How Spainlink describes its workflow
Spainlink said it needed one place to track projects, time, team capacity, and the hours shown to clients. Frade put the goal this way: “We needed a single place to track every project and the time spent on it — partly to manage our own capacity — and just as importantly to show clients exactly where their hours were going.”

- Managers read capacity from those entries. The same records show where the team’s capacity is going.

The story does not list the exact report settings, filters, or export steps Spainlink uses, so readers should check those in Clockify’s own documentation rather than assume a specific setup.

Why the company says it chose Clockify
According to the story, Spainlink chose Clockify for its timesheet and reporting depth, at a price it could justify across a growing team. Frade described the tool as “easy enough that a whole team adopts it without friction, but capable enough to run real client billing on, and open enough to build on.”
If you are comparing time-tracking tools for a similar purpose, the case points to six criteria worth testing against your own needs. These are inferred from Spainlink’s stated requirements; the story is not a comparative test of Clockify against other products.

- Confirm what your clients expect in an hour breakdown, including format and frequency.
- Price the tool at your own headcount, not at Spainlink’s 22 members.
- Decide whether invoicing needs an add-on or can stay in your existing billing system.
- Convert the recovered hours at your own labour cost to get an estimate you can defend.
That calculation will produce your own number, which is more useful than borrowing one firm’s customer estimate.
