Pass.Tech is aimed at education and training organisations, offering maths and English diagnostics, courses, assessments and reporting tools. Together, they address different points in a qualification journey—but the available evidence describes the services, not proof that combining them improves qualification rates.
Two services for different users
Pass describes itself as an education technology company focused on maths and English. Its two services have distinct audiences and purposes:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Service | Who it is for | What it offers |
|---|---|---|
| Pass Learn | Individual learners | Online study and exam bookings across GCSEs, A Levels, Functional Skills and Access to Higher Education Diplomas. |
| Pass.Tech | Organisations supporting learners, including colleges, apprenticeship providers, schools, universities and alternative education settings | Maths and English diagnostics, online courses, AI-marked exams and reporting tools. |
The practical distinction is that Pass Learn presents routes and bookings directly to learners, while Pass.Tech provides software and learning provision to organisations that serve them. The shared idea is to bring together activities that can otherwise sit in separate places: identifying what a learner needs, preparing them and arranging assessment.
What a learner gets through Pass Learn
Pass Learn presents several qualification routes in one learner-facing service. Its pages describe structured study resources, practice and support alongside exam bookings. That can help a learner explore a route without treating the course and the assessment booking as entirely separate tasks.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The route still matters. Qualification and assessment arrangements are not identical: some qualifications require an in-person exam centre, while Pass Learn says Functional Skills and Access to HE provision can be delivered online. Do not assume that every exam can be taken at home; check the specific course’s current assessment format, location and booking arrangements before enrolling.
Choosing among GCSEs, Functional Skills, A Levels and an Access to HE Diploma should begin with the learner’s goal and the organisation that will assess their application. A qualification’s title alone does not establish that it will meet a particular apprenticeship, university or employer requirement.

What Pass.Tech offers education providers
Pass.Tech is designed for organisations supporting learners, rather than being simply another individual course catalogue. Pass describes a sequence of tools: diagnostic assessments to identify starting points and topic gaps, online courses for learning, AI-marked exams for assessment, and reporting tools for educators.
Pass says the diagnostics can help educators target support and that reporting can help manage workload. These are the company’s stated purposes and claims; the available sources do not independently establish the size of any workload reduction or an effect on learner outcomes. The product description identifies the intended users and functions, not an independent evaluation.

Check recognition before choosing a qualification
Recognition depends on the precise qualification and the purpose for which it is being used. For apprenticeship English and maths requirements in England, the Department for Education says: “Only Functional Skills qualifications regulated by Ofqual can be acceptable equivalents for English or maths in an apprenticeship.” Its guidance, updated 19 February 2026, sets requirements that vary with apprenticeship level and prior qualifications. For apprenticeships at levels 3 to 7, the published tables list Level 2 Functional Skills English or maths at Pass, subject to the detailed rules. Read the England apprenticeship guidance.
This is a defined apprenticeship context—not a universal statement that Functional Skills is equivalent to GCSE for every purpose. Universities, employers, courses and other receiving organisations may set their own entry requirements. Before committing to a route, confirm the required subject, level, awarding organisation and minimum grade with the apprenticeship provider or destination institution.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
The Department for Education lists Functional Skills, GCSEs and GCE A Levels among regulated qualification types, and Ofqual publishes specific requirements for Functional Skills qualifications. A course provider or learning platform is not the same thing as the awarding organisation or regulator. Check the status of the qualification itself rather than inferring it from the service through which it is taught or booked. See the Department for Education’s qualification descriptions and Ofqual’s Functional Skills requirements and guidance.

For Access to HE, Pass Learn’s terms identify it as a trading name of Complete Tuition Ltd and say the diplomas are delivered under licence from Open Awards, a recognised Access Validating Agency. Anyone considering that route should verify the specific diploma, validating agency and destination university’s entry requirements; the service name by itself does not establish that every diploma meets every university’s criteria. The relevant terms are linked from Pass Learn.

What Pass’s published figures do—and do not—show
On its About Us page, Pass reports “6 million+ users” using its websites and products each year, “30,000+ students” helped to gain access to university, jobs and apprenticeships, “6000+ teachers” progressed to teacher training from its courses, and “1000+ institutions” and training providers using its platform and services. These are company-published figures, presented by Pass in 2026; the page does not supply definitions, methodology or a time series for the totals. They should be read as Pass’s reported scale figures, not as independently audited impact measures. See Pass’s About Us page.
Those figures do not establish pass rates, progression caused by the services or the effect of using Pass Learn and Pass.Tech together. The service descriptions explain what Pass offers and whom it targets; they do not, on their own, demonstrate that integrating study, diagnostics and bookings causes more people to qualify.
Quick Recap
A practical way to decide whether the route fits
- Start with the destination. Ask the apprenticeship provider, employer, university or course what qualification it accepts.
- Pin down the requirement. Confirm the subject, qualification level, awarding organisation and minimum grade—not just whether a route is described as “equivalent.”
- Check how assessment works. Establish whether the specific exam is online or requires an approved in-person centre, and confirm current booking arrangements.
- Choose the service by your role. An individual comparing courses and exam bookings should look at Pass Learn; an organisation seeking diagnostics, courses, assessment and reporting should assess Pass.Tech against its own needs.
- Separate product claims from evidence. Use official qualification rules to check recognition, and treat Pass’s descriptions and reported figures as company statements unless independent outcome evidence is available.
