If you also want to know whether a price is unusually low, an independent tracker may add price history, regional comparisons, or a target-price alert. These are separate tools: an alert tells you to look, the storefront confirms what is available now, and a tracker provides context based on its own data.
What each tool does
Nintendo’s own tools help you keep track of games you might buy and learn when a saved game is on sale. Independent trackers advertise a different kind of help: looking at past prices, comparing prices between regions, or notifying you when a price reaches a threshold you choose. None of those signals substitutes for checking the current listing in the storefront you intend to use.

| Nintendo website Wish List | Nintendo’s March 16, 2020 announcement says wishlisted games can prompt email when released or put on sale if promotional emails are enabled. | That promotional-email opt-in is enabled in your account settings, and the live listing and terms are still current. |
| Nintendo Store app | The app’s Notifications settings include a Sales toggle for wishlisted items; game-release notifications have a separate toggle. | App availability in your location, the notification setting, and the current storefront offer. |
| Nintendo Sales & Deals page | Current offers for digital games and DLC in the page’s region. | Price, discount, eligible game or DLC, region, and sale end date on the live listing. |
| Independent price tracker | Depending on the service, advertised features can include price history, regional prices, and price alerts. | Coverage, history length, refresh cadence, alert rules, and whether features require payment. |
The distinction matters when an alert arrives: it is a prompt to check, not a guarantee that a particular price is still available or suitable for your account region.

How to get Nintendo sale alerts for saved games
Use the website Wish List
Nintendo’s announcement describes this process: sign in to a Nintendo Account, open a game’s page, and select “Add to Wish List.” Nintendo said that a game on the list could trigger an email when it was released or went on sale, provided promotional emails were enabled. The announcement is dated March 16, 2020, so it documents the feature but should not be treated as a guarantee that every current account screen or setting has the same label. Check your current Nintendo Account communication settings if you do not receive an email.
#1 Best Overall
- eCash - Nintendo eShop Gift Card $100
Promotional-email opt-in is the important condition in Nintendo’s description. Adding a title to the list by itself is not enough to establish that an email alert will arrive. If email matters to your buying routine, check that promotional messages are allowed and that the address associated with the account can receive mail.
Use the Nintendo Store app
- Open the Nintendo Store app and go to the User Page.
- Tap the settings gear, then choose Notifications.
- Enable Sales (for items on your Wish List).
- If you also want alerts when wishlisted games are released, enable the separate game-release notification.
Nintendo’s support FAQ documents those app controls. Sale alerts and release alerts are distinct, so enabling one should not be assumed to enable the other. The FAQ says the app is available for iOS and Android in regions where the eShop is available; local availability should be checked rather than inferred from another country’s app listing.
Nintendo’s stated Americas availability list for the app includes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. This is a regional list, not a worldwide availability guarantee. The FAQ separately says that physical-item purchases through the app are available only in the United States and Canada. That restriction concerns physical purchases; it does not change the steps for enabling wish-list sale notifications.
Where to confirm a sale is real and current
Use the Nintendo Sales & Deals page for the region whose storefront you plan to use. Nintendo’s US page lists offers for digital games and DLC and invites visitors to check back for featured offers. Because this page changes over time, a price or discount seen earlier may no longer apply. Verify the live listing immediately before buying, including its sale end date.

- Digital Card balances can be shared across Nintendo Switch, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family of systems, but may only be used on a single Nintendo eShop account.
Check the actual game or DLC page as well as the deal listing. Confirm that the offer is for the title and edition you want, that it is digital content if that is what you intend to buy, and that the displayed currency and storefront region match your plan. A general deals page is useful for discovery; the current item listing is the place to confirm the terms for a particular purchase.
Do not treat a notification as proof of a price. The app and website are alert channels, while the storefront is where you confirm the offer currently shown. An alert may reach you after an offer has changed, and a page can have different prices or terms by region. The practical response is to follow the notification to the relevant regional storefront and read the live details before checking out.
What independent price trackers add
Nintendo’s app support documents sale notifications, but the material available here does not establish that Nintendo provides a historical price chart. Independent services advertise historical records and alert features to answer a different question: not just “Is this game on sale?” but “How does this price compare with the prices this service has recorded?”
History and regional comparison
NTPrices says it tracks price history and regional eShop prices. Its guide says prices are refreshed daily. Those are the service’s own descriptions, not independently verified measurements. A historical chart can give useful context, but its usefulness depends on the service’s coverage and how much history it has for the specific game and region. For a newer game or a platform with a short record, the available window may be too brief to establish a meaningful long-term low.

NT Deals’ App Store listing advertises price history and statistics, desired-price alerts, and comparisons across regions. It marks some capabilities as premium. That tells you what the listing says the app offers, but it does not establish that every title or region is covered or that an alert will arrive at a particular time. User reviews are anecdotal and should not be treated as verified evidence of coverage or reliability.
Target-price alerts
A target-price alert is different from an alert for any discount. You choose a price that would make you consider buying, and the tracker notifies you if its data indicates that the target has been reached. NTPrices recommends this approach as part of its service guidance. Set a target that would genuinely prompt a decision rather than choosing an arbitrary number; otherwise, the alert may add noise without helping you act.
Before relying on a tracker, check five things on its own current service information: which storefronts and regions it covers, how far back the recorded history goes, whether it identifies an all-time low, whether alerts trigger on any discount or a chosen threshold, and how often prices refresh. Also check which features require payment. Capabilities and coverage can change, so a general description of a service is not a promise about a particular game or alert.

A practical buying routine
- Save the game. Add it to the Nintendo website Wish List or the Nintendo Store app, whichever you use.
- Turn on the right alert. For website email, confirm that promotional emails are enabled in your Nintendo Account settings. In the app, use User Page → settings gear → Notifications and enable Sales for wishlisted items. Treat release notifications as a separate choice.
- Confirm the live offer. Open Nintendo’s regional Sales & Deals page or the item listing for your region. Check the current price, content, and end date rather than relying on an earlier notification or saved price.
- Use history only if it helps decide. If you care whether the price is unusually low, consult a tracker’s record for that title and region. Consider the length and coverage of the history before treating a low point as meaningful.
- Choose a useful threshold. If the tracker supports desired-price alerts, set a target at which you would actually be ready to buy. Confirm the tracker’s alert rules and refresh cadence on its current service information.
- Check region and currency again. Regional price comparisons do not prove that buying from another region is appropriate for your account or that the title will be available and usable as you expect. Confirm suitability in the intended account and storefront region before acting.
Common problems and what to check
You added a game but received no email
Nintendo’s 2020 website announcement makes promotional-email opt-in a condition for the described email alert. Check current account communication settings and confirm that the address on the account can receive Nintendo messages. Since the announcement is older, use the current account interface for settings rather than assuming the labels have not changed.

The app does not show the same controls
Follow the current support path—User Page, settings gear, Notifications—and look for the Sales option for wishlisted items. If the app is unavailable in your location or the screens differ, check Nintendo’s current local app information and support details. The app’s stated availability in a set of Americas countries should not be generalized to every region.
A tracker price differs from Nintendo’s listing
Use the live Nintendo listing for the purchase decision. A tracker’s advertised refresh cadence, regional coverage, and recorded price history describe its own service and may not reflect the storefront at the exact moment you check. Confirm that the tracker is showing the same title and region, then verify the current price and terms directly in Nintendo’s storefront.
You are considering another region’s price
A comparison can help you notice that prices differ, but it does not establish whether a purchase in a different region fits your account or intended use. Confirm the game is available and usable in the intended account/store region before acting, and do not assume currency conversion alone makes two listings equivalent.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsOptional funding: eShop Cards
Nintendo’s support FAQ says the Nintendo Store app can redeem a Nintendo eShop Card. A card can be an optional way to fund a planned digital purchase; it is not necessary to create a Wish List, turn on sale alerts, or track prices, and it does not itself make a game cheaper. Check the applicable regional storefront and card terms before purchasing or redeeming one.
