AMD rates the desktop Radeon RX 570 at 150 W Typical Board Power and recommends a 450 W minimum PSU. The 150 W figure describes the graphics card, not the power drawn from the wall by the whole PC. The card’s auxiliary PCIe connector is model-specific: RX 570s may use one 6-pin, one 8-pin, or one 8-pin plus one 6-pin. Check the exact card’s label and manufacturer specifications before choosing or connecting a cable.
What does the RX 570’s 150 W figure mean?
AMD’s specification for the desktop Radeon RX 570 is 150 W Typical Board Power. This is a manufacturer figure for the graphics board; it is not a measurement of total system consumption or of the PC’s draw at the wall. The same AMD specification lists a 450 W minimum power-supply recommendation. AMD Radeon RX 570 specifications

Partner cards can publish different power figures. Those numbers should stay attached to the particular model and its manufacturer rather than being treated as a single value for every RX 570.

Which PCIe power connector does an RX 570 need?
There is no universal connector for the RX 570. Board partners use different designs, so the GPU family name alone does not tell you whether your card needs a 6-pin, an 8-pin, or more than one auxiliary connector. These official model specifications show the variation:

| Exact model | Published power figure | Auxiliary PCIe connector(s) | Manufacturer PSU recommendation |

For the connector, inspect the sockets on your card and confirm the exact SKU against its maker’s specifications. A listing or box that says only “RX 570” may not identify the board design precisely enough to choose a cable.

What PSU wattage should you use?
Use the recommendation for the exact card model as your starting point, then account for the rest of the system and the PSU’s available native PCIe leads. The published recommendations differ: AMD gives 450 W minimum for its RX 570 specification, MSI recommends 450 W for the cited ARMOR 4G OC, and Sapphire recommends 500 W or greater for each of the three cited models. These are model-specific manufacturer recommendations for the complete system, not wattage requirements that can be inferred from the GPU’s board-power figure alone.
Sapphire’s PULSE RX 570 4G G5 page states: “500 Watt or greater power supply (Recommended).” That wording applies to that model; it is not a universal RX 570 rule.

Check compatibility before connecting the card
- Identify the exact card. Find the model or SKU on its label, packaging, or product documentation; do not rely only on “RX 570.”
- Confirm the socket requirement. Look up that exact model on its manufacturer’s specification page and verify the number and type of auxiliary PCIe sockets. Compare this with the sockets physically present on the card.
- Check the PSU recommendation and system. Use the card maker’s stated PSU guidance and consider the other components in the PC, rather than treating the RX 570’s board-power number as a complete-system estimate.
- Verify the PSU has the required native PCIe lead. Match the cable to the card’s socket and your PSU’s documentation. Do not choose a 6-to-8-pin, SATA, or Molex adapter based only on the GPU name; the cited specifications do not establish adapter safety for an unknown PSU, cable, and card combination.
