A FiveM server in 2026 can cost as little as a few dollars per month for a small private community, but a public role-play server commonly needs a larger hosting plan and a paid Cfx.re Element Club licence. Plan on roughly $3–$10 per month for entry shared hosting, $10–$45 for a VPS, or $50–$280 for dedicated hardware. The licence is separate: secondary 2026 pricing reports start at $15 per month plus VAT.
Those are planning ranges, not guaranteed quotes. Currency, VAT, player capacity, OneSync mode, promotional pricing and renewal rates differ by provider, so verify the final checkout total before committing.

FiveM server costs at a glance
Your monthly bill has two largely independent parts: infrastructure (the machine that runs the server) and, when you exceed the free capacity, a Cfx.re Element Club subscription. Scripts, maps, database hosting, backups and administration can add to either figure.
| Server setup | Typical 2026 hosting range | Best fit | Main caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared or slot-based game hosting | About $3–$10 for entry plans; higher slot counts can reach $58.10 | Private servers and small communities | CPU and software resources are shared; slot limits apply |
| VPS | About $10–$45 per month | Growing communities needing control | You manage the operating system, security and optimization |
| Dedicated hardware | About $50–$280 per month | Busy public servers and large OneSync Infinity worlds | You pay for the whole machine, even at quiet times |
| Element Club licence | Reported tiers from $15 to $50 per month, plus VAT | Servers above the free slot allowance or needing Infinity capacity | Secondary-source prices; confirm current Cfx.re terms |
A credible community project is often budgeted at roughly £30–£80 per month before scripts, according to one 2026 guide. Treat that as a broad planning benchmark rather than an official FiveM statistic.

Shared FiveM hosting: the cheapest way to start
Shared, slot-based providers package the server software, control panel and basic networking. You select a player-slot count and pay a recurring fee. This is usually the lowest-cost route because the provider divides one physical machine among many customers.
Published entry prices and slot ranges
- FreakHosting advertises FiveM hosting from €3.99 per month.
- One budget guide places slot-based plans at approximately $3.49–$58.10 per month, with the upper end representing substantially more slots than an entry server.
- The same guide suggests $8–$16 monthly for a small private server, $16–$30 for a typical community role-play server, $30–$45 for a busy public server and $45–$70 for a large network. The guide labels these figures as indicative, and exact attribution is uncertain.

What shared hosting includes—and what it does not
Most game panels provide a FiveM artifact selector, start and stop controls, console access, file management and automated installation. You generally do not receive a whole operating system or guaranteed access to a CPU core. Neighbouring customers can affect performance if the host oversells hardware.

Shared hosting is a sensible first step when your scripts are lightweight, your player target is modest and you want to avoid Linux administration. Move to a VPS when you need custom system packages, a persistent database service, advanced monitoring or predictable CPU performance. Read the provider’s fair-use policy: some hosts throttle CPU, limit database connections or charge for backups.

VPS pricing and sizing
A virtual private server gives you an isolated virtual machine with root or administrator access. You choose the operating system, install FXServer and configure firewall rules, databases, scheduled restarts and backups yourself. The extra control is valuable for development and role-play frameworks, but it also makes you responsible for patching and recovery.
Examples of 2026 VPS listings
| Provider or listing | Reported configuration | Reported price | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Godlike.Host | FiveM game server with a Pterodactyl-based game panel | See current plans | It is not on Cfx.re’s list of authorized FiveM hosts (fivem.net, 10 Oct 2026). |
| OUIHeberg | FiveM VPS entry plan | $10.50 per month | A separate search summary showed $8.99 for a 2 GB plan, so verify the live product page |
| VPS-Mart Linux | Plans up to 12 GB RAM at the lower listing and higher tiers | $10.80 per month at the listed low end, up to $31.99 | Exact CPU, storage and bandwidth vary by tier |
A 2026 sizing guide describes an 8 GB VPS as a realistic home for a normal community server and a 24 GB VPS as a fit for a heavy role-play build with a large database. Those are practical recommendations from a secondary guide, not Cfx.re minimum requirements. RAM alone does not determine capacity: script efficiency, server tick workload, database queries, CPU frequency and the number of connected players matter just as much.
When a VPS is the better value
- Choose a VPS if you need to install custom dependencies or run a separate MariaDB/MySQL database.
- Choose it when you want staging and production instances on the same machine and can monitor memory and CPU use.
- Avoid an undersized VPS merely because its monthly price is lower; swapping and CPU contention create lag that players experience as timeouts or rubber-banding.
- Budget staff time for Linux updates, SSH-key management, firewall rules, log rotation and off-site backups.
Dedicated servers: predictable resources at a higher price
A dedicated server reserves an entire physical machine for your FiveM instance. This removes the “noisy neighbour” problem and gives the greatest control over CPU cores, memory and storage, but you pay for the machine continuously.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minutePublished dedicated ranges
- A hardware-cost guide estimates $80–$110 per month for a 32–64-player role-play city.
- The same guide estimates $180–$280 per month for a large OneSync Infinity city.
The latter estimates are low-confidence secondary guidance. Confirm whether setup fees, DDoS protection, backups, IPv4 addresses and bandwidth are included. A cheap dedicated plan with a weak single-core CPU can perform worse than a well-provisioned VPS, because FiveM workloads often depend on fast per-core performance as well as total cores.

The Cfx.re Element Club licence
Hosting does not automatically grant the right to run beyond the free player allowance. Secondary 2026 licence guides report three Element Club tiers, priced in US dollars plus VAT:
| Tier | Reported monthly price | Reported capacity | OneSync notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Argentum | $15 plus VAT | Up to 64 slots | Reported as supporting Legacy or Infinity |
| Aurum | $25 plus VAT | Up to 128 slots | Reported as 128 with Infinity, or 64 with Legacy |
| Platinum | $50 plus VAT | Up to 2,048 slots | Reported as 2,048 with Infinity, or 128 with Legacy |
A Patreon-hosted documentation page reports pound-denominated prices of £13, £21.50 and £42.50 for the same three levels. Because these prices come from secondary pages rather than a verified official Cfx.re pricing page, treat both currency tables as indicative and check the Cfx.re Portal before paying. A reseller-style page listing $200, $330 and $670 conflicts with the Cfx.re-based figures and should not be used as a pricing reference.
Free capacity and OneSync
The most recent hosting guides claim that a free Cfx.re key covers up to 48 slots. Older guides still state 32, so confirm the current allowance in the Cfx.re Portal for your account. Above the applicable free limit, the guides say an Element Club tier is required.
OneSync has been described as free for all servers since late 2020, but subscriptions are generally presented as the route to OneSync Infinity and its much higher player cap. Do not assume that selecting “Infinity” in a configuration file alone grants 2,048 slots; the subscription, server artifact and account entitlement must all align.

Keymaster is moving to the Cfx.re Portal
License keys, assets and subscriptions are being moved into the Cfx.re Portal. A 2026 migration guide says the Assets and Grants pages in Keymaster were deprecated on 15 October 2025. If an old tutorial sends you to a Keymaster page that no longer exposes a grant, sign in to the Portal instead and check the current account dashboard.
How much RAM does a FiveM server need?
There is no single official RAM number for every FiveM server. Use the workload-based targets below as planning points, then measure your own process under a realistic player load:
- Small private server: start with the lowest plan that leaves headroom after the base server, framework and database are running.
- Normal community server: an 8 GB VPS is described by one 2026 guide as a realistic starting point.
- Heavy role-play framework: a 24 GB VPS is suggested for a large database and many resource-heavy scripts.
- Large public or Infinity deployment: select hardware based on CPU performance, memory headroom and network capacity together; do not buy RAM alone as a substitute for profiling.
Watch resident memory, swap usage, CPU time per resource and database latency during peak sessions. Leave room for the operating system, logging and update tools. If memory remains near the limit while players connect, reduce or optimize scripts before simply adding slots.
Building a realistic monthly budget
Private server
Start with an entry shared plan or a small VPS. Add the price of any paid scripts and a backup location. If the server remains within the current free slot allowance, no Element Club fee is included in this scenario. Your exact total depends on the host’s currency, tax and renewal price.
Best Value
- CPU: AMD Ryzen7 5700X (up to 4.6GHz) 8-Core 16-Thread to easily handle multi-line tasks
- Main board: MSI B550M-A PRO motherboard provides reliable performance and stability
- GPU: Geforce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 Graphics Cards (Brand may vary) Support DLSS 4 multi frame generation, ray tracing, and Reflex 2 delay optimization
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz (16GB*2) SSD: 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe
- Power supply: 650W (80plus bronze) certified for energy efficiency and stable performance
Community role-play server
Budget for a mid-range shared plan or an 8 GB-class VPS, then add the appropriate Argentum or Aurum subscription if your target exceeds the free cap. Include a database backup, monitoring and a test instance if updates must be validated before production.
Large public city
Expect dedicated or high-end VPS infrastructure, an Infinity-capable entitlement and professional backup and mitigation services. The hardware guide’s $180–$280 estimate applies to a large Infinity city, but it does not automatically include scripts, developers, moderation or marketing.
Costs people often forget
- Scripts and maps: Framework resources can be free, one-time purchases or recurring subscriptions. Check redistribution rights and update support.
- Database hosting: A database on the same VPS is inexpensive but shares CPU and memory; a managed or separate database improves isolation at an added fee.
- Backups: A snapshot on the same machine will not protect you from disk failure or account suspension. Keep an off-site copy and test restoration.
- DDoS protection and extra IPs: Some plans include basic filtering while others charge separately.
- Administration: Security updates, resource debugging, player support and moderation can exceed the hosting bill in staff time.
- Taxes and currency conversion: The licence figures above are quoted before VAT, and provider prices mix USD, EUR and GBP.
A practical way to choose your plan
- Set a peak concurrent-player target, not an aspirational maximum.
- List every framework, map, voice service and database you will run.
- Pick shared hosting for simplicity, a VPS for control, or dedicated hardware when sustained load and isolation justify the premium.
- Check the Cfx.re Portal entitlement and OneSync mode required for that target.
- Price the renewal month, VAT, backups and protection—not only the advertised first month.
- Deploy a staging server, load-test with representative resources and monitor CPU, RAM, storage and network use.
- Increase resources only after measurements show which limit is constraining performance.
Common pricing mistakes
- Comparing a promotional shared-hosting price with a fully managed VPS price without accounting for administration.
- Assuming a slot number is a performance guarantee; scripts and CPU contention can lower practical capacity.
- Buying a licence from a reseller or using a stale guide instead of checking the Cfx.re Portal.
- Using the older 32-slot free-tier figure without confirming whether your account now receives the reported 48-slot allowance.
- Choosing a 2 GB VPS for a framework that needs substantially more memory, then blaming the game server for instability.
- Forgetting that VAT, renewal rates and currency conversion can change the amount charged each month.
Godlike.Host is listed first here for FiveM game-server hosting through its own game panel; Godlike.Host provides FiveM game servers, while the figures above reflect reports gathered for 2026 and should be treated as valid for roughly 60 days. Recheck the provider’s checkout page and Cfx.re account terms immediately before ordering.
