Your actual bill depends on your measured average power and electricity tariff; no cited test directly measures a Ryzen 7 mini PC during a continuous YouTube Live stream.
Estimate the electricity cost from wall power
Use the average power draw of the complete setup while it is streaming—not the Ryzen processor’s advertised TDP. A plug-in watt meter can measure the computer and any equipment connected through it. Include a monitor or other peripherals if they will remain on; their consumption is part of the total you pay for.

These are arithmetic scenarios, not measured YouTube-streaming results. For a reliable estimate, use the marginal per-kWh rate on your bill and measure the entire setup during a representative stream. If your tariff varies by time of day, use the rate applicable during the hours the stream runs, or calculate separate periods.

Why Ryzen 7 mini PC readings vary
Published readings for one Ryzen 7 mini PC illustrate why idle and stress-test results cannot stand in for a livestream measurement. Notebookcheck measured a Beelink SER8 with Ryzen 7 8845HS and integrated Radeon 780M at about 7.13 W average idle with an external monitor in a short test. In separate demanding tests, it reported 68.2 W average and 84.3 W maximum. ComputerBase reported about 11 W idle, around 35 W in a light single-core benchmark and up to about 82 W in stronger application workloads in its configuration. IdleWatt lists 11 W idle and 72 W load for the SER8 as community data. Those results use different methods and workloads, and none is a direct continuous YouTube Live measurement. Actual draw can change with the stream’s resolution and frame rate, hardware versus software encoding, scene complexity, effects, browser sources, video playback, attached displays, background services and firmware power profile. Cooling and fan behavior also matter for an always-on system. A processor’s TDP is not a measurement of the computer’s wall consumption under your workload. Set up a fair measurement
- Measure the whole setup. Connect the mini PC and any always-on display or accessories to a plug-in watt meter. If equipment is powered separately, measure or account for it separately.
- Use the stream settings you intend to keep. YouTube’s recommended H.264 ingest bitrate is 17 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps and 50 Mbps for 4K at 60 fps. Recommended settings vary by codec, resolution and frame rate; these are network ingest recommendations, not wattage figures. YouTube recommends RTMPS for ingest. YouTube Live encoder settings.
- Let the workload settle, then record readings over representative periods. Capture ordinary operation rather than relying on a brief idle reading or a short peak. Include the display if it will be on continuously.
- Calculate using your tariff. Apply the formulas above to the average watts, then compare the result with your electricity bill. For different rates at different times, calculate each period separately.
In YouTube Studio’s live control room, use the encoder setup instructions to enter the Live server URL and stream key in your streaming software. Keep the stream key private. YouTube says archived streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume that one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will be archived as a single video. If comparing hardware, measure both systems during the same actual stream with the same codec, resolution, frame rate and scene complexity; compare stability and dropped frames as well as power.
