Humanoid robot prices range from a few thousand dollars for a listed base model to enterprise arrangements with no public rate card, and the purchase price is not the full cost of putting a robot to work. As of October 2026, Unitree lists its G1 base configuration at US$13,500 before tax and shipping, while other models have different published prices or sales qualifications. No reliable, universal annual operating-cost figure is established: service, maintenance, software, deployment, supervision and delivery can all change the total.

What does a humanoid robot cost to buy?

There is no single market price for a humanoid robot. Some manufacturers publish a price for a specified configuration; others require a sales inquiry, offer a subscription or service arrangement, or have products that are not available for ordinary purchase. A listed hardware price, a monthly subscription, an enterprise service estimate and a future target are different kinds of figures, not like-for-like quotes.

Among the clearest public prices in the sources checked on October 11, 2026, Unitree lists the G1 base configuration at US$13,500, excluding tax and shipping. Its official shop also lists several other models. Those listings are useful starting points, but they do not establish a delivered price for a particular country, configuration or deployment.

Robot or access route Published or indicative figure How to interpret it
Unitree G1 base US$13,500 Manufacturer-listed base price; tax and shipping excluded. The EDU configuration is contact-sales, and options and delivered cost vary.
Unitree R1 From US$4,900 Manufacturer shop listing; confirm configuration and delivery terms.
Unitree H2 US$29,900 Manufacturer shop listing; confirm exact availability and configuration.
Unitree H2 Plus US$100,000 Manufacturer shop listing; confirm exact availability and configuration.
Unitree H1 US$90,000, with a contact-for-“real price” qualification Manufacturer shop listing; treat the displayed figure as qualified, not a complete quote.
1X NEO early access or subscription A 2026 secondary guide reports US$20,000 for early access or an announced US$499 per month subscription These are different offer types. The guide says subscription shipping was later; term, inclusions and fulfillment conditions are not established here.
Agility Digit service or ownership Illustrative assumptions in a secondary guide Enterprise commercial-model examples, not a public rate card or guaranteed contract terms.
Tesla Optimus and some other prominent humanoids Target price or no public price in the cited comparison A future target, enterprise pilot or not-for-sale status is not a current retail offer.

The Unitree G1 price is the most directly interpretable figure in this list, but it still describes a base configuration rather than a fully specified deployment. Sales availability, configuration and delivery can change; confirm the model, options, shipping terms, taxes and local import charges with the manufacturer before treating a listing as a budget.

Unitree R1 Humanoid Robot (White, R1 Air)
  • Three models, one lightweight platform R1 Air (20 DOF, monocular camera), R1 (26 DOF, binocular camera, head+waist joints), and R1 Edu (26 DOF + SDK/API for programming). All weigh ~29kg / 123cm – one person can lift, move, and fit into a car trunk.
  • Easy setup – no coding required for basic use Unbox, power on, and start. Manual teaching feature: physically pose the robot, and it replays the motion. Graphical drag-and-drop programming also available.
  • More DOF = more expressive movement 26‑DOF models (R1 / R1 Edu) add head and waist articulation for smoother dance and running. For safety reasons, only basic actions are currently available; advanced movements are not yet released.
  • Voice interaction + two color options Responds to English voice commands (music, conversation, photo). Choose Gold or Blue‑White with automotive‑grade gloss paint.

Why the sticker price is not the delivered cost

A robot listing may identify a base model without including the costs required to receive, configure and put it into service. The gap depends on where the robot will be used and what the buyer expects it to do. For an accurate comparison, ask each seller to price the same scope rather than comparing one bare-hardware number with another company’s service package.

Request an itemized delivered-hardware quote

  • Specify the exact model, configuration, options and included accessories.
  • Ask whether the price includes freight, insurance, import duties, local taxes, commissioning and installation.
  • Confirm the destination country, delivery schedule, payment terms, and what happens if the selected configuration is unavailable.
  • For contact-sales models or qualified listings, request the actual written price and clarify what the displayed figure represents.

This is particularly important for a US$13,500 G1 base listing: the manufacturer excludes tax and shipping, so that amount is not the buyer’s complete delivered cost. The same caution applies to shop listings whose delivery terms or exact configuration need confirmation.

How much does a humanoid robot cost to operate?

The sources checked do not establish a defensible annual operating-cost figure that applies across humanoid robots. They also do not provide a complete G1 ownership schedule covering energy, routine maintenance, parts, software, compute, integration, support and human supervision. A buyer should therefore treat annual costs as a task- and contract-specific estimate, built from vendor disclosures and the intended duty cycle, not as a standard percentage of the purchase price.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

One 2026 secondary buyer guide estimates first-year total cost at roughly two to three times hardware price when support, safety, compute and integration are included. That is a broad guide-level estimate, not a vendor quote, market-wide statistic or validated multiplier for every robot. As simple arithmetic only, applying it to a US$13,500 base price would yield US$27,000–US$40,500 for a hypothetical first-year total. This is not a forecast or quote: it excludes the uncertainty of configuration, delivery, actual task, contract scope and subsequent-year costs.

Power, runtime and charging

Unitree specifies about two hours of G1 battery life. That is a manufacturer product specification, not independent testing on a buyer’s task or a guaranteed continuous working shift. Actual useful runtime depends on the workload and conditions; the available figure does not establish energy consumption, recharge time, battery replacement frequency or the number of spare batteries needed for a particular schedule.

Ask the manufacturer for energy use measured under the intended task, runtime under load, charge time, battery life and replacement price, and any charging equipment requirements. If a workday must continue while a robot charges, budget the operational plan as well as electricity: spare batteries, charging intervals or additional machines may affect utilization, but the available sources do not quantify those costs.

Maintenance, warranty and downtime

Unitree lists different G1 warranty periods for different configurations: eight months for one and 18 months for another. These are product-page statements, not a substitute for the warranty document applicable to the specific unit. The sources do not specify a universal repair cost, parts schedule, service response time or expected downtime.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before purchase, obtain the warranty terms in writing and ask which components and labor are covered, what exclusions apply, where repairs occur, who pays shipping, how quickly replacement parts are supplied, and whether support continues after the warranty ends. Ask for the cost of routine service, likely wear parts and a repair visit, plus the process for handling a robot that is unavailable during a deployment.

Unitree R1 Humanoid Robot (White, R1)
  • Three models, one lightweight platform R1 Air (20 DOF, monocular camera), R1 (26 DOF, binocular camera, head+waist joints), and R1 Edu (26 DOF + SDK/API for programming). All weigh ~29kg / 123cm – one person can lift, move, and fit into a car trunk.

  • R1 Edu adds open development SDK/API access for custom programming, simulation platforms, and future Unistore content downloads. Adult use only – under 18 requires adult supervision.

Software, compute and support

A hardware price alone does not show whether a robot needs separate computing equipment, paid software, cloud services, data fees, updates or a support agreement. The cited buyer guides identify support and compute as potential first-year cost categories but do not establish a standard schedule or amount. Ask what software is included, whether any features require a paid plan, what happens when updates are released, and whether support is available for the tasks and location you have in mind.

Integration, safety and human supervision

Deployment work can include programming or adapting tasks, connecting to existing systems, assessing hazards, training staff, modifying a facility and supervising operation. The relevant question is not simply whether a robot can perform a task in a demonstration, but what it can do in the buyer’s environment, how consistently, and how much human intervention the quoted arrangement includes.

Ask the seller to separate one-time setup and integration from recurring support, and to state who is responsible for task programming, operator training, safety procedures, remote intervention and ongoing monitoring. If a service price includes people or uptime commitments, get the scope, response times and exclusions in the contract. The reviewed sources do not supply universal amounts for these activities.

How to compare purchase, subscription and enterprise service

Commercial labels do not tell you what is included. A purchase may transfer hardware ownership but leave deployment and support to the buyer. A subscription may bundle some services, but its term, fulfillment, maintenance and software inclusions must be confirmed. A robots-as-a-service or enterprise agreement may price access and support together, yet illustrative figures in a guide are not a seller’s rate card.

Unitree R1 Humanoid Robot (White, R1 Edu)
  • Three models, one lightweight platform R1 Air (20 DOF, monocular camera), R1 (26 DOF, binocular camera, head+waist joints), and R1 Edu (26 DOF + SDK/API for programming). All weigh ~29kg / 123cm – one person can lift, move, and fit into a car trunk.

  • R1 Edu adds open development SDK/API access for custom programming, simulation platforms, and future Unistore content downloads. Adult use only – under 18 requires adult supervision.

The 2026 secondary guide’s reported US$20,000 1X NEO early-access figure and announced US$499 monthly subscription are not directly comparable with Unitree’s G1 base price. The guide says subscription shipping was later and does not establish the term, included services or fulfillment conditions. Similarly, its Digit service and ownership examples are described as illustrative assumptions rather than guaranteed contract terms. Compare written proposals only after establishing what each provides, for how long and under what conditions.

  1. Define the job. Write down the task, environment, operating hours, required throughput and acceptable human intervention.
  2. Check real availability. Confirm whether the offered unit is available to purchase or deploy now, rather than a future target, pilot or product with no public sales route.
  3. Normalize the quote. Request the same configuration, destination, delivery, commissioning and tax treatment from each seller.
  4. Separate one-time and recurring items. Identify hardware and setup separately from software, support, maintenance, service fees and consumables.
  5. Specify performance and responsibility. Ask what task performance is demonstrated, what autonomy is included, who supervises, and who responds when the robot stops or needs intervention.
  6. Model the planned term. Compare total expected spend over the same time period, including end-of-term, repair, replacement and service conditions where the seller can specify them.

What capability and safety evidence should buyers ask for?

Unitree cautions that “the global humanoid robot industry is in the early stages of exploration” and advises individual users to understand limitations before purchasing. The manufacturer also warns that the robot has a complex structure and powerful force and urges users to keep a safe distance and use caution. That is material buying context: price and appearance do not establish that a robot is ready for a given job or safe to operate around people without controls.

Demonstrations also need context. The Associated Press reported that a Unitree G1 demonstration at a robotics event in April 2025 was remotely controlled by an employee. That report concerns that event demonstration only; it does not establish how every G1 is operated or what every deployment can do. It does show why buyers should ask whether a demonstration is autonomous, teleoperated or supported by a nearby operator, and how much intervention is needed on the exact task under consideration.

  • Ask for evidence on the intended task and operating environment, not only general-purpose demonstrations.
  • Clarify whether teleoperation, remote monitoring or human approval is needed, and whether those labor costs are included.
  • Request written safety guidance, operating limits, training requirements and procedures for faults or emergencies.
  • Establish the buyer’s and supplier’s responsibilities for site risk assessment, access control and maintenance.

What a realistic budget should contain

Build the estimate as a set of line items rather than a single multiplier. Where a seller cannot provide an amount, mark it as unquoted and resolve it before treating the robot as financially comparable with another option.

  • Acquisition: selected hardware and options, freight, tax, duties and commissioning.
  • Readiness: required compute, charging equipment, facility changes, integration and staff training.
  • Operation: electricity, battery or other consumables, software or cloud fees, operator time and safety processes.
  • Reliability: warranty coverage, service agreement, parts, repair labor, support response and planned downtime.
  • Commercial terms: purchase, lease, subscription or service fees, contract duration, included uptime, return or end-of-term conditions.

Request a country- and task-specific quote for both delivery and the expected operating period. If the vendor cannot yet estimate a cost component, keep it visibly uncertain instead of assuming it is free or hiding it inside an overall price.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
