What Matter does—and what Aliro adds
Matter is the smart-home connectivity and control layer. A Matter-compatible lock can join a compatible smart-home platform; ULTRALOQ names Apple Home and Google Home among the platforms for its new collection. The exact integration still depends on the lock model and the platform’s current compatibility guidance. ULTRALOQ’s launch announcement identifies Matter certification for all three new models.

Aliro is a digital-access standard. It defines how smartphones and wearables interact with readers and access-control systems so a supported credential can authorize entry. UL Solutions says its Aliro 1.0 testing covers NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Bluetooth Low Energy with UWB. That scope describes the standard and testing services, not a finding that UL Solutions tested these specific ULTRALOQ locks. UL Solutions’ April 10, 2026 announcement explains its testing scope.
In short, Matter connects your lock to your smart home; Aliro enables digital-key access. Matter certification does not automatically mean Aliro certification, or vice versa. For this collection, ULTRALOQ states that all three models are Matter Certified and two are Aliro certified.

The distinctions below reflect ULTRALOQ’s September 25, 2026 product announcement. The entry features and certification statements are manufacturer claims, not independent test results or hands-on findings.

How to choose between the entry approaches
Choose for the door hardware first
The Bolt Pro is a deadbolt; the Latch 5 Pro is a lever-style lock. Match the lock to the door and existing hardware before weighing digital features. ULTRALOQ positions the lever model for doors and shared spaces where a deadbolt may not be the right format.

Decide whether you want tap-to-unlock or hands-free entry
The Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro use Aliro wallet access as a tap-to-unlock option, alongside other listed entry methods. The Bolt Mission instead emphasizes hands-free access, using BLE discovery, UWB ranging, radar-based presence sensing, and local decision logic, according to ULTRALOQ. The launch announcement does not identify the Mission as Aliro certified, so do not assume it supports Aliro wallet access.

Check your phone, wallet, and smart-home platform
Aliro certification alone does not establish that every phone, watch, or wallet works with a particular lock. Check current model-specific compatibility details for the device and wallet you intend to use. Similarly, a Matter label does not guarantee identical setup or feature support across every smart-home platform.

Consider the fallback that matters to you
ULTRALOQ lists a physical-key backup for the Bolt Pro. The launch announcement lists fingerprint and PIN entry for both the Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro, but does not describe the same physical-key fallback for those models. If a particular fallback is essential, verify it for the exact lock before buying.

ULTRALOQ’s Matter guidance says a Matter-over-Thread device needs a Thread-enabled Matter Controller to integrate with a third-party ecosystem. Its examples include Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini, Echo, Nest Hub, SmartThings hubs, and Home Assistant Yellow. The new-lock announcement does not confirm compatibility model by model, so check current documentation for the specific lock and ecosystem before buying a hub. ULTRALOQ’s Matter page provides its general setup guidance.

Do not confuse that smart-home setup requirement with Bolt Mission’s hands-free entry: ULTRALOQ says the hands-free feature needs no separate hub. That statement does not mean Matter integration never needs a controller.
What the announcement establishes—and what it does not
ULTRALOQ’s September 25, 2026 announcement is the source for the models, listed features, certifications, and suggested retail prices. It reports MSRPs of $299.99 for Bolt Mission, $269.99 for Bolt Pro, and $249.99 for Latch 5 Pro; these are time-sensitive manufacturer prices, so check the current listing. The announcement says the lineup is available through Amazon.
The certification distinction is explicit: Matter is stated for all three models, Aliro for Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro. The announcement does not establish that every phone or wallet is supported, verify model-by-model Thread-controller compatibility, or provide independent performance testing of the locks. UL Solutions’ description of Aliro testing does not establish that it tested these particular models.
ULTRALOQ’s May 4, 2026 announcement also described Aliro-certified locks integrating with Samsung Wallet for tap-to-unlock. That supports the general wallet-access use case, but it is not a guarantee that every wallet or every newly announced model has the same compatibility. The announcement describes the Samsung Wallet integration.
